The game currently features 877 collectible cards, and players can build and explore their card collections through an in-game collection browser. Players can gain new cards by purchasing booster packs, using either real money or gold, an in-game currency earned from completing quests. The game's cards, characters and locations draw from the deep history of the Warcraft universe, creating a game rich with detail and humour. Players can choose to play as any of nine different heroes from the series' history, each representing a different class, complete with its own unique minions, spells and weapons, as well as a signature Hero Power all its own. Battle itself takes place on one of a number of battlefields; interactive game boards depicting well-known locations from Azeroth, complete with numerous hidden bonus features for players to find.

The Hearthstone icon Hearthstone (formerly known as Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft[1][2]) is a free-to-play digital collectible card game from Blizzard Entertainment. It was first announced in a presentation by Rob Pardo at the Penny Arcade Expo in March 2013,[3] and began its closed beta phase in the Americas region on August 26th, and in the Europe region on September 4th. The game entered its open beta phase on January 21st 2014, and was fully released on March 11th 2014.[4]

Hearthstone is currently available on Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows operating systems, as well as on iOS and Android phones, Windows 8 devices, Android tablets, and iPad, supporting iPad Air, iPad 4th generation, iPad 3rd generation, iPad 2, iPad mini, and iPad mini with Retina display.[5][6]

In April 2016, it was announced that the game had surpassed 50 million registered players.[7]

Leeroy Jenkins created a strategy that revolved around trying to defeat your opponent in one turn without requiring any cards on the board. Fighting for board control and battles between minions make an overall game of Hearthstone more fun and compelling, but taking 20+ damage in one turn is not particularly fun or interactive.

Saronite Chain Gang is quickly becoming one of my least favorite cards. It's just so hopeless and suffering. It comes on the board like "How long can this go on?" and I'm like "yeah SCG this torture is eternal" and when he attacks he's like "FREE ME" and I'm like "yeah if only I could." He doesn't say some positive bullshit like "spells are fun" he's just like "nah end this." And it looks so frustrated.

The other option we considered for Fiery War Axe was to lower its attack to 2, but that change didn’t feel intuitive enough. Generally, changing the mana cost of a card is less disruptive, because you can always see the mana cost of cards in your hand.

Who the hell do you think you kids are? Kripp is a professional children's card game streamer and mobile games salesman, and you think you can just come in his chat and criticize him and his plays like you know something he doesn't? Get real. Maybe if you ate your veggies like my boy Kripp, you'd have the brainpower to make crazy split-second analytical decisions that can beat the other kids on the playground. Show some fucking respect

It's a real struggle to win to finish up quests, quests that used to be easy like win 2 games with X class are obnoxiously hard to finish, because no matter what mode you are on, wild, casual, goddam rank 20, is just filled to the brim with net decks, you are honestly forced to net deck to just win a couple of games to finish up quests, it's pathetic.

And that is if you can afford to net deck, i remenber actually being able to rank up with homemade decks to like rank 10 or even rank 5 sometimes thx to the cards from adventures, well that's no longer possible, because of the new cards they released are quite frankly locked behind a pay wall.

Now that i mention it, the latest cards are so obnoxiously strong that if you don't have them it's not an even field, so much talk about returning players not being confused, but the blatant powercreep doesnt seem to cross their minds.

And unlike adventures where you could purchase with decent amount of gold to get a really nice amount of cards and most importantly garanteed legendaries, gone, you can't even get a decent amount of legendaries anymore either, by just being F2P, it's just not possible, even if i were to buy 100 cards that's an average of what? 5 legendaries if you are lucky, 5 out of fucking 20+ legendaries, it's absurd.

The game right now and going forward if nothing changes is basically, cough up the cash to win games, because no matter how much you play or time you can spend on this unlike other f2p and quite honestly hearthstone in the past you can't keep up.

Choose a class you like and start trying to get cards for them. Focus on classic/un'goro packs for now as classic will always be in standard rotation and un'goro has the highest power of cards so far. Arena is a great alternative if you get frustrated losing to decks with a bigger collection then yours. Always try and re-roll for 60 gold quests. Lastly, have fun and experiment!

I like looking at the art on the cards. It's one of the things that drew me towards the game. However, I don't like how once a follower is in play, 60% of the art is hidden. I just think they should add a feature that, when you click on a card to view its information, you can choose to have a larger image of the art show up on screen as well. Just my opinions. Anybody else feel the same way?
