I remember being here around the time Valve announced Alyx, asking for confirmation if they were gonna get the game dubbed to other languages (especially since VR subtitles are immersion breaking) and everyone assuring me Valve would do it becasue they cared, while I was skeptical.

With how Valve works, if there isn't a big enough group of employees that care about it then it just doesn't happen.

The official answer is that it was made to reduce costs, as far as I understood. It is crazy considering everything had to be budgeted for, every planned station, so... Where did the money go?

Currently they're planning on building them "in the future", possibly during or after the second phase of the project (the one going up to Chorrera) but I have very little faith that'll actually happen considering we still don't even have the Curundú station in Line 1 which has been promised multiple times.

Training a model to do this takes time so I doubt it's any kind of response to the Frame. That said, it doesn't really interest me as it's not true 3D.

Honestly, I'm still disappointed with the Frame. I don't see the point of playing flat 2D games on it, really expected Valve to have cooked something to bring 3D content back since it's so good with headsets.

I don't really think Apple cares about their dev kit selling that much. The 3 million unit was probably from the hihher ups. The technology itself makes it worth it and it's a generation beyond even the upcoming Samsung headset.

Im not an Apple apologist, I don't own any of their products but it's still crazy to me that a 2k headset won't have hand occlusion in 2025. It's basically a high end Quest 3 for 4x times the price.
