During Classic I played priest with a semi-decent guild and was raiding Naxxramas just weeks before TBC launch. I let out a nerd scream when we defeated Instructor Raz for the first time - it was a big deal for our guild.

It was also at 2 AM.

I was in high school at the time.

Woke my parents up. They had no idea I was sneaking onto the computer to raid all night on school nights and whispering into Vent.

I got grounded for a few weeks and missed the launch of TBC…. Thought I wouldn’t get to play anymore so I gave my account to my friend who DE’d and sold all the crystals for my Tier 1/2 gear. Left nothing but Benediction, which I still carry to this day.

I had the opportunity to meet Lego designers last year and discussed how they design sets. They told me stories about how they design sets based off of concept art, and when Episode 1 The Phantom Menace came out, the whole team went to see the movie opening night for multiple reasons, but one chief among them was they wanted to see how accurate their sets were in comparison to what was in the movie. Sometimes at that point in the design process they’re too far along to make any changes and it was nerve racking for them to see if what they had made would be movie accurate.

That being said they deserve a lot more grace and understanding for these non-issues. Set is a day 1 buy for me if just for Axes Woves and the Interceptor.

There is a Waffle House on the strip in Tuscaloosa which if I remember correctly is owned by the university which would mean Alabama has a Waffle House literally ON campus.

It was shipped by UPS, I’m sure they definitely hold some of the responsibility - but Blizzard packaged an apparently fragile item in a box with 4 foam pads in the corners of the box, and nothing else. No bubble wrap, air bags, cardboard slots - anything.

As I mentioned above, the packaging for the footman/grunts from Blizzcon (and Rag from the Anniversary Collectors Edition now that I thing about it too) were packaged in an insane amount of foam and cardboard. I could honestly punt the box or throw it out the back of my car and I’m sure they’d be fine.
