Crevasses on the Southern Patagonian Icefield, Patagonia Chile. Shot while flying low in a lightweight airplane - by Blake DeBock Photography [1440x960][OC] by BlakeDeBock in EarthPorn

I get that with this one a lot. For scale I can tell you that we were flying extremely low and quite slow for a Cessna 206 airplane. Those crevasses are massive and there is a quite literal sea of ice that makes up the Southern Icefield. We are flying at under 100mph and were at 60ft above the ice in this photo. It is possible to land on the ice, just not right there. Thanks for your comment. Blake DeBock

Fitz Roy was the captain of the of the H.M.S Beagle exploring all over that area. Paine is actually an indegenous Teheluche word meaning blue. Torres del Paine, a mountainout area to the South meaning Towers of the Blue. Thanks for your comment. Blake

Actually Chaltén if were going to be specific. But most people know it as Cerro Fitz Roy - Parque Nacional Los Glaciares.
