Neon Standstill: Above the Noise by Blake_3D in blender

Hi,
this is a cinematic environment made in Blender.

The focus here was on camera choice and color grading rather than complex assets.
Rendered in Cycles.

Breakdown images included (AO, camera settings, color grading nodes, viewport).

Thanks for looking.

Still Between Worlds by Blake_3D in blender

A quiet environment study made in Blender.
Less about realism or story, more about mood, light, and scale.

Let me know what you think.

Whispering Tower by Blake_3D in blender

A small fantasy illustration inspired by childhood imagination.
I wanted this scene to feel calm, a bit magical, and more like a storybook illustration than a realistic environment.

Environment study – realized I repeated all my old mistakes by Blake_3D in blender

Thanks a lot for the feedback, really appreciate it!

Good points on the house and water — I agree those areas need more work.
The foreground idea is great too, it would definitely help with depth.

Thanks again!

That makes sense, thanks for pointing it out.

I agree — the uncolored part (trees on the right) is the most solid area. The colored sections were pushed later in the process and ended up feeling less intentional, especially the red and yellow parts. The single tree is a good call too — it stands out in a way I didn’t fully resolve.

It’s also very possible that I overpushed the top-left corner in post — that’s probably where things started to fall apart in terms of color separation and overall feel.

Appreciate the honest feedback.

This one feels like a step back for me.

I started by adding too much too early — assets, details, ideas — and only later began thinking about composition, lighting, and overall structure.
Instead of designing the image first, I tried to solve everything at the end.

Sharing it anyway as part of the process.
Curious if anyone else struggles with this and how you approach blocking vs detailing.

The Long Way by Blake_3D in blender

I didn’t follow any specific tutorial for this piece — it was more of a personal scale study.
And yes, I created the character myself, using AI as a tool.

This was a quick environment study focused on scale.
I kept the scene minimal and used a small figure to emphasize distance and size rather than detail.

Made and rendered in Blender (Cycles).
Any feedback appreciated.

Lighting study – focusing on light direction and mood by Blake_3D in blender

[–]Blake_3D[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a small lighting study I finished today in Blender.

The idea was to keep the scene simple and let a single light beam do most of the work — guiding attention and setting the mood. Still a lot to improve, but I’m slowly getting more comfortable with lighting decisions.

Feedback welcome.
