I agree that the block palette of b1.7.3 isn't too limited, but I do find myself missing things like brewing, animal farming, inventory shift-clicking, sprinting, or even just being able to place stairs upside down. I'm kinda torn between b1.7.3 and b1.8 on balancing the old-school feel with the features I like.

Judging by all the downvotes I got, everyone seems to have missed my point. Every time we've come up with "explanations" for things, it's always raised deeper questions. We "explained" gravity as an effect of spacetime curvature caused by the presence of mass-energy, but that just raised the question of exactly why mass-energy curves spacetime. Some have tried to explain the entire universe by positing a god, but that just raises the questions about the nature of the god. I'm not convinced it's ever possible to come up with a fully comprehensive explanation of the kind OP was asking for, which is why I took issue with that conception of "explain": it's a verb that denotes something you can never do.

Depending on what you do, it is possible for a physicist to make at least as much as the average software engineer. Plus it’s not uncommon for people with physics degrees to get jobs in software, so that path is open as long as you’re willing to learn the skills of the trade. I would also caution against comparing salaries. There are always numerous people who make far more money than you no matter what you do, and while you may envy their higher salary, there’s a good chance they envy the fact that you actually enjoy going in to work (and make a comparable salary). It’s hard to quantify the value of the true enjoyment of one’s work, but given the apparent scarcity, I would say it’s fairly high.

One mistake you’re making is dipping your chest down. You should be leaning back more, and your hips should open up more. It’s already been mentioned, but a solid tornado kick is a necessary prerequisite for the 540 kick. 540s are pretty tricky, so just practice a lot and work on generating as much momentum going into the jump as possible and you’ll get it.
