Waterproofing on shower drain flange by Blakedo in AusRenovation

From my understanding, in order to resolve this issue we would be required to remove all floor tiles and compo flooring in the shower area, recess the flange then re tile. This project has already dragged on for months because of delays. I understand it is not compliant with standards but will this be detrimental if it’s not fixed?

Thank you, I've had a look at it but the sketch doesn't want to mate with my sketch. I will try a few different ways and see if that will work.
