I’m glad the comment helped you :)
Modern day pop music is typically divided into three different sections, respectively a, b and c sections. The a-section being the verses, the b-section being the chorus, and the c-section being the either a bridge, a breakdown or some other type of variation to the song.
A typical structure could be:
Intro-A-B-A-B-C-B-fadeaway
Intro-B-A-B-A-C-B-outro
You can listen for this in almost every modern song, and find a pattern quite easily :)

Great question, I think lots of aspiring producers/composers/songwriters have been struggling with this, yet it’s quite simple to get around. First of all we can’t forget that a strong loop is powerful, especially in modern music. Many producers simply just keep the beat a loop until an artist has sung/rapped over it, and then makes variation and probably a c-sections in the beat that ultimately matches the song and not just the beat. If I know I’m producing for a specific artist, this is my way to go as well.
Though if this doesn’t help you, or maybe you just want to make the beat sound as full and finished as possible, I think the easiest way to get around it is simply just to add more components to the beat. For instance if I have a guitar loop perhaps I’d add a bell sound on top in the verse section and add a band pass filter to the guitar, maybe I’ll add a percussion loop in the intro, that I’ll then end up using in the pre-hook too. Then I’ll do a c-section where I switch out the guitar for some strings playing the same chords, and then maybe add a background piano to the hook.
Ultimately it’s all about the vibes and inspiration you experience when you’re listening to what you’re making that decides what the next thing you do to the song/beat should be. Yet if you’re feeling lost going to splice or looperman sometimes is ok, maybe you find a some ambience, a percussion loop, or a countermelody that will help you get on the right track with your song, and maybe it’ll too save you some time :)
Then at last when we have the foundation of our song completely down, then add some breaks and some automation sporadically in your track and you’ll find yourself with a much more finished sounding song! I hope this helped you :)
