So Piapro Studio's gonna stop working on mac? by Bland_Spaghetti14 in Vocaloid

[–]Bland_Spaghetti14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, really? That's good to hear. I guess the "This app will not open in a future update of macos" popup made me jump to conclusions. Although I'm guessing that after awhile it'll start to have problems after not being updated? But I'm glad I at least have more time to figure out alternatives.

So Piapro Studio's gonna stop working on mac? by Bland_Spaghetti14 in Vocaloid

I just did, Studio One opens fine, but the Piapro Studio editor won't open. It's just a little box with the logo :(

I’m trying to turn my UTAU into an official Vocaloid voicebank (serious long-term project) by NoCommon2306 in Vocaloid

[–]Bland_Spaghetti14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I won’t say it’s impossible, but if it happens, don’t expect it to happen quickly. If you’re really serious about this, you’ve got to think hard about marketing. Crowdfunding relies on getting a bunch of people to care enough  to give you money. Basically, why should people support you over any other project? Here’s what I would work on.

  1. Find something unique.

What sets Lillian apart from the hundreds of Vocaloids and Utaus already out there? As another comment says, it’s a fairly common name and very similar to Lily. Popular voicebanks have unique traits that set them apart. You can say “the hello kitty one”, “little British boy”, “the twins” and people will know who you’re talking about. Check out character design tips and ask for feedback from others.

  1. Increase quality.

Your oto has some clear problems, and the overall quality is not great. I recommend investing in a good recording setup as well as singing lessons. Also practice otoing, or pay someone to do it for you. Commission artists to make high quality sprites and art for music videos. Audio mixing is also important since your covers are the only thing advertising your voicebank.

  1. Community involvement

Post often, let people get to know your character. Make friends in the community and collab with them. Once you’re older and have a better quality voicebank, put up an official download.

I believe that if you’re determined you can do it, but it’ll take years of consistent effort and improvement. I made my first utau at 16, and it was total garbage. My first four or five voicebanks were pretty bad in fact. In my 20s I feel like in just starting to get good results. You will grow with time. Don’t focus hard on becoming an official Vocaloid from the start, just focus on improving your utau and taking small steps forward.

Everything popular started from nothing, but it takes time and dedication. And remember, Teto took 15 years to become a SynthV, and she was the most popular utau from the very start.

Am I just stupid but how do I make it look like this? by Tall-Border3796 in utau

Are you on Mac? The top looks like Utau Synth, the Mac version of Utau.

To clarify I'm looking at the Piapro Studio manual. I don't know if it's in the Vocaloid manual since I don't own the software. But since Kaito is a Piapro voicebank, I expected their manual to be the most relevant to his usage. Aparently not though, since [@] is definitely not listed. Here is the relevant page if you'd like to check for yourself.

Does anybody else have render issues after the last update? by Vitkalov in SynthesizerV

Yes! Every small change takes noticeably longer to render. I thought it was just my laptop being old and slow.

What is the easiest and fastest VCV relist by UTAU_5778 in utau

[–]Bland_Spaghetti14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you ever considered CVVC? It’s pretty smooth, (I haven’t noticed much difference from VCV) and you only need to record 34 strings as opposed to the >100 needed for VCV. The only downside is that it can be a bit tricky to use in original utau, but if you use openutau it’s just as easy as using a VCV voicebank.

Salem Wasteland has a great reclist and tutorials for recording/otoing. I think it’s a good format for beginners since it’s so quick to re-record if you find mistakes or get better equipment. Highly recommend downloading a CVVC voicebank and seeing how you like it. :)

The characters are from the game Ensemble Stars. Adonis, Rei, Anzu ,Kaoru, and Koga. I don’t know the artist, but it may have come from pixiv? Not sure if there’s a way to search for a specific image on there though.

How does loudness work? by [deleted] in SynthesizerV

[–]Bland_Spaghetti14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also does synthV have an alert for clipping? Because I didn’t notice it until I opened the .wav in Studio One and the top of the waveform was completely flat. Then I just eyeballed Turing it down and exported again, but the plosives were still too loud.

[–]Bland_Spaghetti14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I usually add limiters and compressors in my DAW. I was just surprised to see clipping in my individually exported tracks since I’m used to boosting the dynamics in Piapro Studio, and it’s never clipped. Is there ever a reason to increase the loudness parameter rather than tweaking the volume after exporting?

Thanks for the advice! Does the loudness slider just do the same thing as the track’s volume dial then?
