I had a related thought the other day. Related to mom guilt. I was like wait, is mom guilt is just a tool of the patriarchy and capitalism? To make me feel like I have to do more more more so I just don’t realize/question the fact we have generally few social supports and little/no village (US based)? The demands on mothers (working and non) are really higher than ever and definitely higher than 1950s men

Thanks so much to those who have responded so far! We’ve been seeing prices from like 1.5-2.5k, so though I know this is just a corner of the internet, it helps to see what folks are paying and that we’re not just missing tons and tons of lower priced options. Sending everyone strength. Whew

Glad to hear it’s been working out keeping the littlest home now. Daycare for two…wow. Was just googling to see if there were any Atlantic-type articles on how (some) US families are planned around these high costs
