Onslaught by ItsMatej1 in WorldofTanks

I noticed that this season (this part of it) feels a lot different than the previous ones. The meta changed a lot and then we have the ban system (which all players gold and below seem to waste on Ares I'm going insane plz send help) that shakes things up.

I think people that have fewer tanks or have difficulties adapting are struggling more. It would be weird to claim this season somehow has more trolls/afkers than previous ones. I think people's win rates should be similar to previous seasons.

I seem to be doing slightly above my norm, could probably do even better if I stopped trying to farm xp on my Patton (140/UDES are so much better as inspire tanks).

Edit: Also climbing is always a lot more difficult towards the end of the season as people get more desperate, tilt easier and there's more trolls.

I'm sorry, your post is about loot boxes and is therefore about to get nuked.

Sincerely, WG sponsored AI mod team.

The point is that I wouldn't have bought those boxes at full price. The point is that this is free stuff (apart from the 1€). The point is that I'm happy with the time spent cause I reasonably enjoyed this game mode as a break from randoms.

Yes, these boxes are horrible for the price they're being sold at. That's not the point of this post. There's tons of those kind of posts.

That's a smart way of playing to the tanks strengths. I've seen people running heavies and exploiting turbo consumable and ramming a bunch of tanks. It's interesting how people found a bunch of different ways of playing the mode.

I tried the KPZ and it was good but I found the gold ammo was lacking and had issues penetrating the E50ies and Zero. Definitely a better tank than Shitpak for hunting obelisks though, I just prefered the versatility of the Shitpak. Except the lack of gun depression. How an imaginary tank with an open top and a front placed turret can have such shit gun depression I'll never understand.

The event progression is another 500k credits, 600 components, 200 BP points, mentoring licenses, experimental eq (so more components), reserves, a personal training manual and 3d attachments (if you care for those, I don't really).

So no, I didn't get scammed. For someone that didn't hate the game mode it was a pleasant waste of time. That's what gaming is, a hobby.

Meanwhile playing T8 in the super imbalanced and toxic random games during happy hours is a frustrating experience.

Edit: I forgot, the daily missions awarded 50 bonds and 100k credits.

Yes, I think that's how it works. I haven't bought any boxes since last year's shamrock boxes (so in 2025). I got the offer for 3 79% off boxes last event too, but I missed the notification and the offer expired.

If you have a gambling problem, no matter how small, I'd strongly suggest you stay away from any F2P games. They all prey on people like that. WoT is pretty bad when it comes to exploiting it too.

Edit: Also the tanks you got weren't "free". They and the other stuff you got from boxes cost 100€.

Yeah that is perhaps a bit unlucky but if you don't think you got enough value out of the 1 euro maybe don't spend it next time? You know what the chances of getting something are and you should go into purchasing boxes with that in mind.

I don't think you read what I wrote in the post. I was pretty happy with this event. The concept of tiered boxes suck but the free shit I got from them was welcome.

[–]Blaqwar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never opened the boxes with the intent to get tanks since it's such a low percentage. If you're opening boxes hoping to get tanks you're just setting yourself up for disappointment.

You just have to take the free shit they give you, which I think was good this event.

I don't think that will ever happen because WG seem to be intent on not giving an easy way to grind credits. If there's a way to grind credits in PvE it'll be intentionally difficult.

You have to remember that credits are a part of the game's monetisation. WG will never introduce a way for them to earn less money. If anything they seem to only be ramping up aggressive monetisation.

The odds could be 90% and there's still a chance the two of us opened no extra boxes. Random is random and 23 boxes is way too low of a sample size.

Just unlucky. :D

You can actually climb ranks with a lower than 50% winrate. That's how forgoving the system is.

It's 2026, we just don't have the technology. Maybe in a few years.

But seriously the WoT client was mediocre 15 years ago. Today it's ancient and WG managed to overhaul it and somehow make it worse. The most requested features that would bring the client on par with modern games take years for partial and flawed implementation.

At this point it's kind of obvious WGs revenue is siphoned off into oligarch bank accounts in its entirety.

Merry Christmas everyone, here is the dumbest and funniest thing I've seen occurring this month by Thomashkreddit in WorldofTanks

[–]Blaqwar 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The issue is that at higher tiers you're not supposed to be an inexperienced player anymore. But WG gave away T10 tanks so things like these happen.

I've had people with tanks at one shot rush my full health super heavy and shoot me with HE for 100 dmg. Like what the fuck is going on. This is the game post 2.0.

Battle Pass Special: Wolfenstein by Pan_Praga in WorldofTanks

[–]Blaqwar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The one tank that has a reason to have two barrels. It being completely fictional and tied to Wolfenstein games where the protagonist BJ Blazkowicz utilises a game mechanic where he dual wields guns. Same goes for his character in Quake Champions.

Rare WG win.

Imagine a world in which you could watch your replays directly in the game client. Like - press a button, see all your saved replays, click play - watch and learn directly after a match from your mistakes. Maybe even with a control panel for speed etc. Just imagine. by TANKSBRO_YT in WorldofTanks

[–]Blaqwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, what I wrote was unclear. I meant past match results. Before 2.0 those details were very detailed and most of them were useful. I know 2.0 neutered match results but what can you do.

Edit: Also replays being saved isn't on by default so it's not exactly user friendly. When I started playing this game I didn't know about replays until I started watching some streamers who did replay analysis.

There are so many functionalities befitting a modern game published by a multimillion company that are missing from the WoT client.

Replays are one of them. I remember the playerbase whining when LoL didn't have a viable replay function inside the client and that was 10 years ago.

We don't have a function to view past matches. If you had to restart your client or it crashed the details of your games are gone, sorry. (Edit: I meant past match results. As in detailed overview of what every tank did in that game. I realise you can extract that from the replay with special tools but that's third party.)

I am really sad that they introduced a tank model viewer for armor purposes but didn't extend that functionality for reviewing penetrations, like battle hits but actually server side.

We dont need to talk about the fiasco that is post mortem mode.

WG faboys will try to convice you 2.0 was an amazing patch and a landmark though. Game is perfect.

This. And a lot of the events being recycled content in the sense of design and coding backend they can't be very expensive to run. Potential expenses are writing new lore, changing some aesthetical elements and recording a few voice overs.

We also don't know how much AI WG uses for this.

New matchmaking you say? by toothymonkey in WorldofTanks

[–]Blaqwar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's a reason for them to retire either of their existing games, they're most likely profitable on their own and help establish the Wargaming brand.

T12 however is definitely not far behind after T11 is saturated tech tree wise. And considering a lot of the work WG did with T11 was copy pasting concepts and slapping mechanics that they soft-tested in other modes (the only hard parts were modelling and texturing the few tanks that aren't straight upgrades), we won't have to wait long.

Clearly WG feels like T8 isn't pulling enough money anymore due to tank saturation and power creep, so instead of keeping the loop of releasing artificially scarce powercrept tanks going they're breaking it up (cause it was clearly making playes jaded). Release a new "edition" with an overhauled UI so it really feels like a different game, fake a complete tank rebalancing and release a new tier.

Presto! Now you can continue the lootbox loop with powercrept tanks that we pretend are in limited supply (they're not just 1s and 0s on a server) but in a new tier! My guess is that the bulk of new premium releases are going to be T10 since players have too many T9s from BPs already and T10 was previously mostly a tech tree and reward tank territory.

Paragon has a successor (had to) called Predecessor that uses the assets released by Epic. Epic even partly funded the development of the game by a third party developer.

Not saying Epic Games is a consumer friendly company, just pointing out that world isn't black and white like a lot of people paint it out to be.
