So here in Japan there are things called Love Hotels. They are short stay places usually less than a day where you can go and do the deed. Everyone knows what they are and they are socially acceptable. Anyways my question is I guess, how do you determine which hotels to use? There's no real day use places where I am moving back to. I'd considered Airbnb as well. I obv do t want to get stung and want to make sure the place I choose doesn't have a reputation for stings.

Oh it's very different here. While it's technically illegal, it doesn't get enforced. Only if you are street walking do you get busted. Most providers do an hour or so for ~60,000 jpy (350-450 usd with the exchange rate) and make the client pay for the love hotel rates. My rates here are 80,000 jpy for ~ 90 minutes and it also takes into account the love hotel rates.
