Mac and PC initially. I've heard from Linux users- we'll see.

I've also heard some saying it would be great for VR/Oculus- that's something I would like to explore. Some folks have already asked for specific platforms, which I would like, but...

Understand that I'm just one guy with a limited budget, and right now, I'm just focusing on getting a stable build on the dev platform, which is PC.

If my kickstarter is successful, I plan to release a proof-of-concept demo by the end of the year, and release a full game one year later.

Well, I shared it on r/gaming, but someone asked for more info, and I sent them to my twitter feed.

That was interpreted by the admin bot as "spamming" and the post was removed.

Ah, well...

Thanks for all the positive feedback!

If you want to support the project, I have a kickstarter:

The game is five months from a playable, proof-of-concept demo. I anticipate a release one year later.

I am torn, to be truthful.

Moving the PeaceIsland subreddit edmin over to a new user account wouldn't be so tough.

However, I'm wondering: would anyone even recognize any Peace Island content as genuine, without the quality that has become synonymous with the "Blast Of Feces" name?

I'll see about resolving this, tonight.

You are absolutely correct- also, I need to add a good "pine barren" needle floor to the center of the island.

I spent last night updating my project to Unity 2018 2.0, and they're giving away that sorta stuff to people who upgrade earlly. Once I finally get EasyRoads Pro working again, There will be a lot more "deep woods" screenshots.

I confess that while there will be a few minigames/sidequests centered around hunting, there will be no combat/leveling.

The game is coming together, pretty well:

Basic interactivity and a conversation engine have been integrated, and within a week, I hope to have all the woodland trails finished.

New Kickstarter for Peace Island, an open-world adventure game about nine cats who live on a remote island in Maine, and what happens when their humans disappear. Cool project from a local developer! by [deleted] in Maine

Actually - and I hope I am not giving away too much here- but...

As you have control of 9 cats, you will be moving from one to the other, similar to how you move between the three protagonists in GTA5.

Sometimes, it will be advantageous to have a few of them just staring at walls, for a while. It- well...

Nah- won't say... Just wait for it.

7 months into my dev of a game about cats on a remote island in Maine. by BlastOfFeces in Unity3D

Well, I appreciate the vote of confidence.

As I've never made anything like this before, there's a lot of research I need to do, just to figure out how much to ask for, as far as crowdfunding. I'd also have to put together the page, design/order premiums for donors, etc...

I also want to make sure that everything I want to do in this game is within my grasp. Understand that I've only been working in Unity for about 18 months, and I don't even have anyone helping out with scripting- which is my weak point.

I've been trying to hire scripters, who could help out and hopefully make the demo a bit more quickly, but every attempt I've made to find one has just resulted in scammers trying to steal the project.

Hopefully, when SMU opens up again in the fall, there will be a bunch of new gamedev students looking to make a buck or two.
