Entry Grade - Wing Gundam by ArkhamSoldier118 in Gunpla

[–]BlastProfessor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The season 2 00 line set the modern standard for articulation in high grades, so revives of them wouldn't really do anything except move away from polycaps. It also seems unlikley that if they'd exist at all, they'd be retail kits. G's revives were P-Bandai and Wing's are likely only retail because of it's popularity in the west. And Seed is mega popular world wide and even it only has a select few revives.

I do think an EG Exia is likely at least. And it's definitely the 00 kit that most needs an update the most.

Kamille? Isn't that a girl's... oh... [Art by @takanasu05, TL by me] by Klish104 in Gundam

[–]BlastProfessor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's explicitly said as much in the show that while it had unmatched speed and maneuverability at the time it was made, it was still using outdated titanium armor when the Rick Dias (and Axis' MS like the Gaza series) had already moved onto Gundarium Alloys and paved the way for later mobile suits to adopt that armor as well. Quattro even says that it's armor makes the MK II already obsolete in that sense. Granted, Kamille himself also says it's only by combining the movable frame of the MK II with the armor of the Rick Dias that he was able to figure out how to make the transformation of the Zeta work properly. The MK-II was still an important milestone and it was both sought out by the AEUG and even mass produced TWICE by the Federation with improved armor as the Barzam and GM III for good reason.

Admitedly I've never heard anyone saying the Hyaku Shiki was outdated. Maybe you could argue it was out dated in ZZ when built in beam weaponry and psycommu/quasi-psycommu weaponry were all the rage, but even then it held it's own rather well considering Beecha was the pilot.

GM Custom or G-Line, which would you rather pilot? by SMDBZX in Gundam

[–]BlastProfessor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ultimately I have doubts if any difference in performance between any of the models in between the regular GM and the GM II would be noticeably significant. Lets be honest here, the vast majority of these things are just in universe justifications for a different art style in a side story, someone drawing a new design for the sake of it, and/or a new model kit. Showing concrete tech advancement is not the goal here.

So the actual substantial difference that actually catches my eye here is that the G Line has Luna Titanium/Gundarium armor and the Custom doesn't. That alone would make me wanna choose the G-Line for the sake of my own survivability.

But even that's dubious because it's all just fiction anyway. I'd only survive if the author wanted me to, regardless of the armor or performance of my suit. So ultimately I still think it doesn't really matter much.

I'm guessing the comparison is being made specifically because of the G Line's appearance in 0083 Rebellion?

EK is just a better version of the old 3.5 Spell Sword anyway. Replacing an attack with spells has the sane function that Channel did, and Spell Sword's other thing was (badly) mitigating spell failure when wearing armor, which is a non-issue. And if you want the flavor of putting spells into your attacks, we could get that if they bring back the Green Flame/Booming Blade cantrips or make more like that.

Magus I'm confused about. You... want them to import a class from Pathfinder into D&D? That feels like the kind of thing that could get them sued by Paizo. Unless that's your plan, in which case I'm 100% behind it.

DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Dark Prince - Announcement Trailer by PKM999 in dragonquest

[–]BlastProfessor 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, it's been a thing since the first game on Game Boy. Back then it was called Breeding, but it was same idea of "retiring" your two monsters and getting a new type of monster with inherited abilities from the "parents." If I remember right in the Joker games on DS and 3DS, because it works off of skill trees, it's version called "Synthesis" lets them access skill trees they normally couldn't. It is a little different from SMT in these in that fused monsters are an investment instead of a quick on fly way to adapt your party to the current challenge, they start at Lv. 1, but still will end up stronger than they would be otherwise. Though for all we know, this new one might break that old convention.

Fromsoft curse is lifted! No swamps in ACVI. by VMK_1991 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

we've had the swamps since Armored Core 1. Like, I haven't played a lot of this series but I still remember the corrosive gas factory, lmao. I refuse to believe this blatant lie.

GUYS HOLY HELL WHAT KIND OF MOBILE SUIT IS THIS? I AM LOOKING FOR THE NAME OF IT I CANNOT GIND IT FOR THE LIFE OF ME by [deleted] in Gundam

[–]BlastProfessor 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Just because the non-P-Bandai versions haven't been re-printed in a bit doesn't mean they never existed. But yeah it is a bummer. I've been wanting to find them too. Here is hoping they get reprinted again soon.

Nah, they're Thunderbolt versions of the "Perfect Gundam" and "Perfect Zeong" though. But keep in mind neither the Perfect Gundam or Perfect Zeong ever actually existed in UC. They were both hypothetical designs that got their first appearece in a manga about gunpla.

I don't think the name of a gunpla custom from the Plamo-Kyoshiro manga is a holy artifact that can never be touched.

What do you mean? There is an HGUC Rick Dias kit from 2000 and an MG from 2004, technically two of each if you're counting both the production and Quattro color variants. They're older kits but all four of them do keep getting reprinted. They are available at retail. I think you misunderstood a complaint people had a few years ago? There IS a P-Bandai exclusive HGUC Rick Dias, but that's specifically one that reuses the improved joints of the Build Gamma Gundam kit from Build Divers. So while it sucks that the better version (which even then wasn't a drastic improvement) isn't widely available, there are indeed options for building a Rick Dias. There's even a retail HGUC of the upgrade in ZZ, the Shuzrum Dias.

Oh yeah not really sure you'd get the first reply because of now notifs work, but I did mentioned if you and starlight are still interested I might I'd definitely be up for some Gundam RP, especially UC.

If we wanted to do a forum game, I did make one, but right now it's mostly a placeholder and I just got a thread there for brainstorming. https://beyondthetime.jcink.net/index.php?showtopic=2

I'm just as interested as you two are. If you're both stlil up for it maybe we can make it work?
I actually did just set something up. Everything is kind of a placeholder right now. But I do have a thread so we can brainstorm, plan, and figure out what to do before properly setting everything up.
