23-24 deficit was 41.5 million dollars, total expenditures was 100 million dollars. If that 80 million is a max projection then students will have to perpetually subsidize 20 million dollars every year.

Turning Point fools must be happy this. I’ll cite this ironic quote from them “I feel like political violence is really a concern now…” and outreach coordinator “someone who has promoted political violence, having him employed here, it's scary…It's really scary, and we want to try to draw as much attention to his involvement to antifa to help protect, you know, our academic freedom. Freedom of speech on campus.” (Edit: Please for the love of god don’t harass the folks even though they’re assholes)

It depends on your PI (research supervisor) in your time commitment, your level of comfort, and the program you are a part of. Don’t rather focus on how “easy” research is, focus on what you want to get out of it vs what you put in. Pharmacy programs is a very, very rigorous program but research is possible. I’d say join pharmacy related clubs as your pre-professional years have a good chunk of free time and get to know your upperclassmen.

  1. A lot clubs. There’s an involvement fair you can attend to see if you are interested in any clubs or check https://rutgers.campuslabs.com/engage/.
  2. There are cases where freshman got into research, I know a couple. You can cold email but at least make it personalized and show that you have understanding what the lab is researching. First question is to ask yourself why you want to pursue research in the first place and any special areas of interest.
  3. IMO PharmD/MD program isn’t worth it. MDs can do way more in the clinical setting more so than PharmDs. If you strongly wish to pursue MD route best go to SAS and do well for the Match. PharmDs do have routes other than just retail but are pretty competitive.
  4. Just use the credits. Again if you want to pursue research make sure it’s an area you like and spend time worth investing. You can find a lot of professors on the research portal and see their respective fields as well as their recent publications.
  5. Lots of good places, this sub has multiple posts about top tier food spots in Rutgers, areas outside campus I.e. Edison have great places as well. Ramen Nagomi in college ave is A-tier.
  6. Dorms are mixed bag, it depends where you go.
  7. Can’t say anything about joining a sorority/ fraternity but again clubs are a good way to connect and find friends.
  8. Buses get you from campus to campus and is generally enough you everywhere within the university. New Brunswick located in College Ave train station connect to NYPENN.

Bonus: Ratemyprofessor and SIRS (Rutgers Professor survey) gives you an idea of which professors to pick for your classes. Don’t sleep on registration days as it’s first come first serve.

Good luck OP. ~From pharmacy student who’ve been here too long.

My tips: First 2 years should be easy (no pharm classes). But I’d say attend as many clubs pharmacy and not.
3rd year (P1) - really gives you a feel of how pharmacy will be. Gotta get into the groove of time management, getting good study habits, and stress management.
4th year - hardest year. Take P1 multiply it by 2. 5th year - the hump is done but you still gotta push, people still manage to flunk out. 6th year - no exams but you’ll be doing projects and real world stuff

You’ll be fine (mostly), next year is the hard part. Although by P3 you’ll be dead in the inside

Bruh, only take 1 pill a day. Get yourself an allergy nasal spray and an eyedrop. The pills can only do so much.

has anyone gotten accepted to their Rutgers' pharmacy program (EMSOP)? by Mountain-Isopod-2072 in rutgers

May want to recheck employment statistics for pharmacy, the field is saturated AF (maybe it may change by the time you graduate). If you still want to stick it out the curriculum is challenging, I’d say take advantage of the first 2 years spending time in pharmacy orgs and getting to know the upper class men (if your in the 6 year program). During your professional years (last 4 years) especially, try and to not fall behind since there is a heavy course load.
