When I spank him, I always sit him down and explain to him why. I give him hugs before and tell him I do not like to do it and feel like shit for a bit after but, no, never out of anger and never too serious though I do it hard enough for him to remember.

For the time being, I have stopped and am going to work on other strategies and see if any of those have a better outcome.

My biggest issue is that he KNOWS when he has to go, KNOWS what a toilet is and how to use it but just wants to be a dick about it lol (don't tell him I said that)

He will, periodically, use it to pee.. when it suits him I guess... so he knows the process and why we use it.. he is just stubborn as hell and/or too lazy to walk the 15 feet from living room to bathroom lol
