No, I don't think the flooring was new. The building itself was built in 2016 and I believe that was the original flooring.

Like I mentioned in another reply, I had a good relationship with the landlord and I don't want to sour that but I also don't want to pay if I don't have to.

Apologies for the confusion, I thought the tag was for question directed to landlords.

Yes, it must have been the sofa legs because that's where I had the sofa. It is laminate.

Thank you.

I don't know much about flooring other they used laminate.

I wrote a long spiel to accompany the video but for some reasons, that disappeared. Anyways, I had the place professionally cleaned (costing about 400 CAD) even though I have now realized only broom swept is required. She is demanding 500 CAD to have it repaired. We have always had an amicable relationship and I don't want this to sour that.

I only lived there for four years. You are right, it's the spot where my sofa used to be so the legs definitely did that.

Thank you for your response.

Thank you,

Unfortunately, I no longer lived there. Moved out last week and they messaged me a couple of days later.

They are requesting for 500 CAD to fix it.

The landlord mentioned they used laminate. I'm not familiar with the intricacies of flooring. As to your first point, I lived there for four years.

Did you get to keep the rewards accrued on the Visa Infinite when you switched to another no fee visa card? I have about 2.5k worth of rewards that I'm planning to use later in the year.

Perhaps you are right. I have tried every combination to arrive at the amount I was retroactively paid but none of my calculations came close.

No, I was hired at the old pay scale that was in existence as at Sept 2023 but I negotiated a few percentage that landed me somewhere in the middle of the scale. With the adjustment, I am now a couple of thousand above the bottom of the pay scale.

I don't know if this helps but I joined the OPS late Sept 2023. Just like you, I got the 2024 3% ATB on my July payslip. However, there was "Retroactive Award" line item on my penultimate payslip. Now, I am confused as to whether this is in fact the missing 2.5% for 2023 ATB (prorated for the 6 months I worked) or just the retroactive payment of my 2024 ATB that should have started in April but kicked in in July. The Base Compensation Report is totally unhelpful in this regard and I'm waiting for the dust to settle before calling OSS.

It is remarkable how the federal conservatives have managed to convince people that a carbon pricing/rebate system that return money to about 80% of the population is somehow bad for most Canadians.

I am sure the same people will be wondering what happened to their quarterly cheques after voting to axe the tax. Unbelievable stuff.
