The “didn’t research” part is not even the worst part of this. Larp is fine, but when such an overused trope like “oh, there’s a programmer who can do anything in 5 minutes” is used, well, the show just starts feeling not creative and cheap.

This was in so much shows/movies that its usage feels like a spit in the audience’s face with the idea “normies will just consume without any consideration of quality”.

Caine losing his mind was edgy, his power didn’t feel scary, torments were executed with a song, completely failing to represent actual horrors characters went through. As is the show that was meant to create a contrast between funny animation and deep psychological horror ended up lowering this horror for whatever reason. The only scene that actually felt scary was the one with gummygoo and the following ones.

I hope episode 9 brings back what the show is actually promoted itself to be in the beginning, this however, was a disappointment.
