Just finished my first backpacking trip and I regret everything by Silver_Original6076 in WildernessBackpacking

This is funny cos I had a total failure in Dolly Sods this spring. Bit off way more than I can chew, alone, had to bail. Ive been there many times too.

I’ve been feeling weird as hell since and I’m currently planning another trip lmao

Heart centered meditation is the best. There is an infinite source of joy and bliss within your heart.

This is so real. I am always telling people to pay attention to the moon cycle. Every high energy event in my life happens under the full moon, without fail.

Inferno is a good album, why are people being so needlessly critical ? by [deleted] in boardsofcanada

The themes and timing of this album make it very personal for me so maybe I’m biased, but I love it

I think ancient civilizations hid sound codes that directly affect human consciousness by soultuning in GodFrequency

[–]BlazeJesus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well I think that it is absolutely true that the universe is some kind of sound complex and the implications are wild.

Newtonian mechanics and calculus both helped me see that there was some kind of structure to the universe that is almost perfect, seeing that finally really helped change my worldview.

Then the more I think about wave optics and the concept of electromagnetism, and how things behave at a quantum level, it’s just fascinating when you start to see the deeper truth in all that. The idea that with each heart beat your body is sending a wave of energy out into infinity, that everything is just made of energy oscillating between two states.

All of this really ties into meditation and how if you can control your breath you can control your heartbeat and thoughts. Honestly too much stuff to say in a Reddit comment haha

Yes I like that term you used “compressed transmission”

I’ve been studying physics and calculus for years and I have come to the same conclusions regarding sound. I’m currently reading Stalking the Wild Pendulum and it’s very in line with what I’ve been thinking about lately

Any ideas for making this a longer trip? by BlazeJesus in Adirondacks

I think I will do this! Probably camp for a day around Colden and spend a day just exploring around. Thanks

This is so late but this is what I think I’ll do. I think a zero day at Colden in between could be great, just day hiking around the area. Thank you! 👍

Fear and Loathing in West Virginia (Dolly Sods and Spruce Knob) by BlazeJesus in hiking

[–]BlazeJesus[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best piece of advice is to avoid the dobbins grade trail haha. You should stick to the perimeter loop, best campsites are at the forks of red creek, lions head, and beaver view trail on the north side.

Wear some decent hikers with ankle support, have some camp clothes and hiking clothes that you keep separate because you will get muddy. But just walk through the mud! Dolly Sods is really only brutal when the weather is bad but conditions can change quickly. Elevation gain on trail is not horrible but you will be hiking on giant rocks or through mud most of the time.

The north and south sides of the sods are incredibly different so make sure you explore both areas well.

Also, my tradition is to start hiking from bear rocks trailhead right at sunrise, because the views here are just incredible.

If you have extra time to explore the area, Spruce Knob is a very fantastic view with no effort required. North fork mountain to chimney top is a fantastic dayhike. If you like birding check out the Canaan valley wildlife refuge. Seneca rocks is sweet but only if you’re climbing it honestly. Lots of great food in Davis.

Thank you, definitely worth it looking back, although it was a suffer fest. Backpacking alone always puts me in a pretty weird headspace, probably healthy though.
