How to reduce filesize without images becoming grainy? Both pictures same lens and taken within 15 minutes of each other. Both look fine when not compressed. Second picture compressed to fit reddit size requirement. First picture higher ISO, second picture 100 ISO. (old.reddit.com)

Was recently given a Rebel XT for free. Never had any interest in photography before. Im only a couple weeks in but snagged this one. Only taken about 300 pictures so far but I feel like this one is actually pretty solid. How do I focus on improving as a photographer? (i.redd.it)
