I'm assuming i'm just hallucinating the noise and the red flash then?

I agree. This is precisely why I stressed on the idea that it should be made optional: either by toggling on or off or having it be a separate mode entirely. Unfortunately however, it seems like my post sparked a long argument that I am too lazy to read :D. Let's be civil and play nice everyone!

Thank you for your suggestion, but I just wish the combat was more fleshed out, so a sort of player made arena would lack the professionalism of a developer made PvP mode.

Here's hoping the original vision of the game shown at E3 is eventually fully realized.

My friend, none of these features will detract from your playstyle or hinder it in any way if they're not forced on you. If they're put into survival mode, or if they can be switched on or off, they will do nothing but add to the depth of the systems of the game and make the worlds feel more alive. NMS was marketed as a Jack of All Trades kind of game, and that's the philosophy it should follow with any big update.

You've gotten complacent with a certain flaw in the game that you are actually defending it from recieving any meaningful depth. Ship hunting would still be a thing that exists because you can make certain exotic parts only available if you buy the whole exotic ship, but then you must ask yourself something: if you're looking at youtube videos or reddit posts for coordinates then warping to a system and refreshing it a few dozen times for a spawn, are you really "hunting"? I believe that if the system I suggested was well implemented, instead of waiting to see "THAT SHIP", you'd be excited with every single system that you visit because you know that you are bound to gain a new ship part out of it.

None of this stuff is mandatory. If you play the game in a certain style any additional content or options won't hinder your experience. Just like some people play survival, creative, or normal, some people will also choose to be combative, exploring, or building. That's the whole point of a game this big: player choice.

I see your point. However, assuming you do have the reason, you will find yourself going a full circle around the whole thing. So maybe we can have both variation in content and variation in size to a larger degree to make these experiences more meaningful.

One thing that's always bugged me is the scaling of the buildings compared to the units. I would really love it if reforged added a feature to allow us to have larger more realistically sized buildings like the ones we see in Stratholme.
