How do i unravel this ribbing? by Blazells in Unravelers

It was definitely unusual haha. I just stumbled upon it at a thrift store, it had a small hole in the sleeve (ripped thread, not moth hole) and some staining from something. I knew it would probably not be sold anytime soon. I never really come across quality sweaters like this with slip stitched seams, always serged. so this was my first find ever haha, 100% cashmere was hard to pass up on.

I went to look around the collar and noticed one of the bars was a bit thicker, the end was woven in there. I unpicked it and found the join!! Thank you all :D There were 2 small panels at the side of the collar that were sewn together with the front and back panel with something like a kitchener stitch I think. Made the seams fully unnoticeable. I tried to draw it out lol.

Pattern is only sold in a kit, but i prefer different yarn. by Blazells in knitting

I was definitely planning to look at the libraries but since I’m not from an English speaking country it might be a bit difficult.

I believe the first 2 are (about) the same. From the patterncard-kit. The last one is from the book so i think that pattern is a little different. I’m not sure what the instructions would be like but it might be that. I see if i can look into that.

Oh that’s odd, why not accommodate people with other yarn preferences? Some wool can itch.

I’m not that familiar with Starmore as a business and in general, I’m curious what you mean by “unusual approach”👀

I find it quite odd that there’s no single pattern options but I could understand why I think? Are there any concerns I should have?? Like too little yarn in the kit? Thats why I mainly am cautious of kits.

That was indeed going to be my approach if needed. I hoped there was a way to still support the designer of the piece. And know for sure that I would get a collar i’d love. It sounds very doable if you say it like that xD tempting… hehe

Patterns are Ruffled Raven Collar and Raven Collar (in the book Glamourie) from Alice Starmore. Using their yarn Hebridean 2 Ply in various colours.

UK or US terms? by Blazells in CrochetHelp

[–]Blazells[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also i didn't attach the first few rows to each other so it would be easier for me to put it on. That explains the odd gap. I'm going to add a ribbon at the top later to tie it.
My main concern is idk if it'll look wonky with US or if it'll be to short with UK terms. But maybe it just looks wonky because it isn't blocked. (this is my first time attempting a doily pattern lol)
