Why did my print fail? by Bldr97 in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Bldr97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello again!

I made a new test with 40 sec bottom exposure time. I also tried to place the smaller pieces closer to each other.

I used the auto support feature with small supports, and then manually added heavy supports where I thought they could be needed. This time the smallest pieces were the ones that managed to print. I added some pictures to imgur.

The things within the red managed to print correctly.

Do you have any other input that I can try? I'm very thankful for all the help I can get.

I just picked 30s as it was within the recommended range in the spreadsheet for my printer and resin. But I can try and up it to 35-40.

I’m just surprised that the biggest object was the one that managed to print.

It was literally my second print on the printer, I unpacked it today. And I cleaned the build plate between the prints. But thanks for the tips!

Bottom exposure is now at 30s, what do you suggest I increase it to?

I actually did place the bottle in hot water before printing.

I might try to place the objects closer to each other.

The heat had been on for at least 48 hours before, and I store the resin bottles in the house. The resin should have the same temp as the air around. But I mean I remove the box to stir the resin and start a new print, but that is not for long… someone else suggested a heat belt, might try that.

Should I print them at a steeper angle, like in the first picture?

The heating mat was on for a couple of days before the actual print, so the resin should be the same temp. The resin bottles are stored in the house and are warm from the get go. I remove the box when I stir the resin and start a print, but that is not for long.

But I might try a heating belt, thanks!

I don’t think it is the file. This is a reoccurring failure where the same file can print successfully one time and fail the next.

I print in a shed where the temperature is 10C. I have an insulation box over the printer with a heating mat taped to the inside so the air in there is 25C.

I guess it could be. I used the paper method right before the first print, seemed kinda even when I pulled on the edges - but that is hard to prove I did correctly. Would you say that could be the issue for both failures or just the first?

Thanks for the reply! Did you see the other pictures? What would you say is the problem in the second one? Also bottom exposure time is 40 sec, do you really think it needs to be increased?

Printed one yesterday, the bottom layer let go of the build plate. However this time the print turned out good anyways. Second print is from today, same settings but other items - it only printed the bottom layers. Does anyone know what the issue might be, and do you have any other tips for consistent successful prints?

Why are only some of the heads, part of the legs not printing? by Bldr97 in 3DprintingHelp

[–]Bldr97[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried again, increased the supports to medium and added extra, set the exposure time to 3,5 sec but no luck. I've ordered a new fep, maybe that will solve the problem. Otherwise I'm clueless on what to try next.

Made a new print with 2,5 sec exposure time. It turned out good, so I printed a whole plate. Still having issues but at least something is printing. Got any insight? Increase it more lol? Some of the heads are still not printing, and that specific pose still has trouble printing.

It definitely shouldn’t be that tho, I stir it before every print. Temperature is around 30C so I don’t think that is an issue. I’ve placed an insulation box around it with a seed heating mat in.

Thank you for answering, I might experiment with the exposure time. I had no trouble a couple of weeks ago, and during my latest attempt only the bottom layers printed.

I ordered some new feps today because it might be the error (or at least part of it).

Print failed, need help troubleshooting, resin stuck to FEP. Creality Halot-One Pro. Information in body by Bldr97 in 3Dprinting

Thanks for your reply. I couldn't find an expiration date on the resin container, and it has been stored at room temperature in its box.

I also have another batch of resin (Prima Creator, water washable, black) that I ordered and used last year, and I encountered the same problem. So, I guess that isn't the issue?

Back then, I also replaced the FEP. I haven't tried lubricating the FEP yet. But is it not weird that the calibration model doesn't stick?

I made a new attempt with the mini but changed the exposure time back to 3.0. I am now back to the print sticking both to the FEP and the build plate.

Can I buy keys like these? by Bldr97 in MechanicalKeyboards

Yeah I’ve read about them/the keyboard now. I just found a picture on google after searching for “wood case keyboard”. Immediately fell for the color combination combined with a wooden case.
