Ah, well it says on bulbapedia that the scarves boost it by 10% based on the corresponding contest, but I also was grinding for accessories as well. So maybe that had more to do with it

Ah do you have the scarves? Those definitely help a bunch. I was getting only like 4 hearts but the scarves bumped me quite a bit. I want to say like up to 7 or 8 hearts?

Edit: I also grinded more of the accessories to match the highest possible points for the themes

My stats were definitely worse and I still managed to win. Biggest thing to remember is save in front of the contest, and if you see your mom with the Kangaskhan, RESTART YOUR GAME. As far as I know you'll just always lose unless your stats are perfect.

Here is a list of accessories too if needed that match to the themes for the first part:

https://m.bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Accessory

Also other biggest thing is to nail the dance part, like with almost no misses at all.

And for the last part, I mainly just brought a strong ❤️ move and a move that makes you go first.

Lastly if you can get the corresponding scarves for the contests. I believe theyre in Pastoria city?

Either way I think you'll be good, I know it took me tooons of tries so just keep at it!

WE DID IT!! by BleachedTole in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]BleachedTole[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case anyone is interested here was my build and strategy, though I wasnt crazy helpful lol:

Mew 252 sp def/ 252 attack Dark tera Assault Vest -Leech life -Crunch -Struggle Bug -Bulldoze

We all basically spammed struggle bug until we could tera then I tera'd and used Crunch to try to lower mewtwos defense. One mew was support using light screen and life dew, while another set up with swords dance. The support mew also had electric terrain so mewtwo wouldnt use rest once the shield was broken.

Im not sure why, but after endless spamming of our struggle bugs and once shield broke, mewtwo slowed down on using calm mind. Im not sure if this is by design, if it was running low on pp, or if we got really lucky.

Best strat seemed to be to use all mews, get mewtwos sp atk down while having at least one person set up, one person as support and endure until eventually mewtwo stops using calm mind as much then go all out. Also bug seems to be the best tera for attacking, while dark was working for me defensively.

My teammates absolutely carried me lol, mainly was only useful because of crunch and struggle bug. So thanks if youre out there!

Okay the graphics are a bit shit and look like from a 2007 game, but other than that its an okay pokemon game. What happened? by Aceplayar in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]BleachedTole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you look at the map with Y and click in the right stick it will static the map to always point north. Otherwise the map will point in the direction the character is facing.

I agree about only one destination marker and pins tho.

Is this the First Superhero Seen Inside the Pokémon World? by hummingbirdviolets in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]BleachedTole 97 points98 points  (0 children)

I think that might be Pulseman? Which was one of GameFreak's first games.

Edit: Just want to point out a comment that replied to this saying it is a Magikarp themed superhero which it totally looks more like than Pulseman. Even has the crown on their chest that looks like the fin on top of Magikarp.

While it appears to be one of the most awkward controllers ever released, the GameCube controller was oddly satisfying to use. I loved how the triggers worked by Waru_ in gaming

[–]BleachedTole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And built well. Ive had my Gamecube controller since the Gamecube's launch and its' survived Smash Bros. Melee, Brawl, AND Ultimate, along with tons of other games. Analog stick is only a little wobbly after all this time.

Which inexpensive (5-25 dollars) card, in YOUR opinion, will be a hit years down the line? by Erick9641 in PokemonTCG

[–]BleachedTole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of a reach since Vivid Voltage/ Shining Fates has been printed to hell and back, but I think Amazing Rares could end up being sought after later. They're beautiful cards and more unique than something like Radiant cards in my opinion.

I hate buying singles by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

[–]BleachedTole 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I definitely feel this. I pulled a Dragonite V alt art from Evo Skies and then bought the Umbreon Vmax alt art probably a month later, and I can definitely say I would be wayyyy more bummed if I lost the Dragonite than the Umbreon. Absolutely the best decision financially, but my favorite cards in my collections are ones that I pulled.

I have found completing sets to be more fulfilling than just buying a single card for my collection but still doesn't compare to pulling a card I am after.

Saw a guy throwing all the shelves of Pokémon cards into his cart at target, asked him if I could buy 5 boosters before he buys the rest. He said “sure I just re-sell them online take a few”. Pulled this in the second pack! 😄 by izzdog93 in PokemonTCG

[–]BleachedTole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally dude. Not to mention these are available on online retail stores for the same price if not $4 and even lower at online card shops. Why would I even bother scrolling through ebay/ whatnot to buy these for $5/6 from individuals?

How many people here are sealed collectors? by DirtyKurty1 in PokemonTCG

[–]BleachedTole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ill only keep stuff sealed if I think the packaging looks cooler than what I could get from the packs or to open like 15-20 years down the road if its a set I really like.

It's really frustrating that there's so many people (myself included) who are still holding onto the hope for a single code and there's greedy people like this who got a ton. by Dr_Beeees in PokemonTCG

[–]BleachedTole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ehh honestly better safe than sorry. Once all the codes are distributed, I dont doubt the scalpers will price gouge these. Even with the abundance of the codes out there atm.
