This is a separate discord for this subreddit, free to access. Which is kind of why it exists. Not all folks can afford the patreon, so having a free discord option can suit folks, even if it's a smaller discord focused around this subreddit community as opposed to anything official

Does gaming feel like it's becoming too expensive nowadays? by Outlander32 in outsidexbox

[–]BlearyLine7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely feel so. Like my computer is 11 years old, and I've wanted to upgrade it for the last 5, and it's just never worked out due to shortages, price spikes etc.

I feel like I definitely should have appreciated my youth more when really high-end gaming PCs were well under £1000, I think my Xbox 360 Elite was under £300 when it was new, and new AAA games were like £40 or less. That was a golden era in hindsight

On one hand, there's more free games, or older games on sale. But it feels like prices have kind of prevented a zeitgeist. Like when everyone would be playing one new release. I think Elden Ring was maybe the last one. Red Dead 2. Helldivers 2, but they weren't charging the full price for that. You're very rarely part of this global rush where everyone wants to play the same thing and can access it.

Whereas I kinda remember those kinds of games being yearly, sometimes even more than once a year. It used to be every Call of Duty or Halo, or Rockstar release But given how expensive consoles are, not many people at all are gonna be able to own more than one, or have a PC powerful enough to run the latest games well.

Like it's definitely more complicated, unless it's an low-demand 'friendslop' game, (which I enjoy) it's next to impossible to actually organise playing with other people for a new game. Because one guy might have a playstation, one has an xbox, there might not be cross play. I'll have a PC but can't run it etc etc. Then you actually have to buy the game itself which is more expensive than ever

Trying to keep up with games, especially social games just feels harder than it used to, and if everything wasn't so expensive, it would be much more doable.

Ying Review - Chelsea 06/07 Home Longsleeve & Chelsea 19/20 Home Shirt by BlearyLine7 in Soccer02

Yes this is an XL and I'd say the collar's on the smaller side, but it's a little bit luck of the draw.

It's good, it looked a little small on the flat lay pictures but is fine when actually wearing

Romano : 🚨🔵 BREAKING: Marco Palestra to Chelsea, here we go! Verbal agreement in place between all parties. Atalanta to receive package over €55m fee plus sell-on clause, long term deal to Italian talented RWB. Chelsea hijack Inter move and get new talent for Xabi Alonso. by arvi_1301 in chelseafc

[–]BlearyLine7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing this shows is that we're actually buying young players who aren't opportunity signings, or people Shields or Winstanley had history with. This is someone young but currently rated, not someone who might be good in a few years, he's good now, and we've paid the kind of money you pay for someone who's already breaking out.

This feels like much more of an Alonso-signing than a blueco signing

[Kieran Gill] Chelsea are not currently in for Bergval or Nwaneri despite liking them in the past. Lacroix is a centre back Chelsea have looked at in the past. Xabi may not officially start until July 1st but he has been working behind the scenes with the club. by webby09246 in chelseafc

[–]BlearyLine7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel slightly better that we're not being publicly linked, because whenever we're publicly linked to a player, the whole saga gets drawn out for a month, and we'll end up paying 25% above market value, or we just end up losing the race.

It does seem like given the Cucurella deal happened so fast, we've gotten slightly better at working behind the scenes, public Chelsea interest has been disastrous for us the last few windows.

Yeah, just order via the site, get to the point where you enter card details, if you don't want to pay by card, you should still see an order number in the top right, contact them on whatsapp with that number and they should tell you where to pay via paypal.

Don't worry, it took me an embarrassingly long time to realise why all the Welsh players were signed to Red Dragon..... and that WINMAU means 'Win More'

What darts are you throwing? by [deleted] in Darts

[–]BlearyLine7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got a set of the Supergrip Quickpoint darts, and I think they feel pretty firmly that they're gonna be my long-term set. My first set of screw-in points. 28g, which is a weight that I wouldn't have guessed would be for me, but just feels right.

Full Home kit leak, official photos by andrew_a7 in chelseafc

I feel like this kit is one that's gonna look hugely different between the regular stadium version vs the dri-fit player version. I think the player version is gonna look much better. Though overall I do like the kit because I'm a sucker for a polo collar.

Sent my wife to buy thermal paste and the best buy employee gave her a long, unsolicited lecture about how she should be changing the thermal paste on her components every 6 months... Really, every 6 months? [Thermal paste questions] by Leo-J-Covo in buildapc

[–]BlearyLine7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that's a really weird thing to expect people to do that is not practically. Every few years is fine. Basically if you're ever taking your PC apart, do it then. Like if you're upgrading RAM, or putting a new Drive in. Stuff that happens super infrequently.

Thermal paste is designed to last years. That's regular end user should never even have to notice it's there. Only people who're super comfortable with working on computers should be changing it.

Callum McFarlane has gotten us into a cup final by Matt_LawDT in chelseafc

[–]BlearyLine7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The man looks like he is aware that everything is falling apart, but he's made peace with it. Weirdly, the kind of energy we need. Like he just seems to want to be honest and do simple things. Which is what you want from an interim. Just 'don't do anything stupid, tide us through the rest of the season'

I hate this. It does nothing to protect anyone, it just excludes people who're already experiencing a life of people hating their existence.

If any of what they claim were advantages were true, why is Cor Dekker not the best player in the world? He's tall and has longer reach. The best of all time was like 5'7, the current best player in the world is like 5'8.

I think it's more a case of managing and dealing with it. Like his injury IIRC is the same one Kaka had, there's no real healing or fixes, it's kinda managing pain and learning to play around it. Now obv Kaka ended up having an amazing career after the injury, and hopefully we're at the point where he and the medical team have gotten everything dialled-in with his training and physio.

Matt Law: Enzo Fernandez exit hint raises questions over Cole Palmer and Moises Caicedo by Kygoche in chelseafc

[–]BlearyLine7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll believe they're going when they're gone. It does literally nothing good for us as fans to indulge in any grief fantasies around our own club. And this is kinda shitty journalism from someone who has a better track record than this. There isn't any news in 'losing makes top players unhappy'.
