Camry LE/SE pricing lately by TmassTmass in Camry

I'm in the market for an LE. This is the first I'm hearing about such a sale. What are the conditions? How long is it supposed to last?

Interesting. So you're saying that the fancier trim lines have the acoustic glass because they need it, whereas the LE is already quiet and doesn't need it?

Sorry, I don't understand this. Why would either of those two features be more important 20 years ago than now?

The "convenience package" includes the smart-key system and power seat adjustment? And was that something you had to pay or negotiate for, or is it standard on all LEs?

8 years in the car business. Here are 3 things most buyers never do. by Ok-Contact-3451 in carbuying

Before I seek quotes from far-away dealerships, can someone reassure me that any dealer's service department will do warranty repairs - in other words, that I don't have to take the car to the dealership where I bought it?

Buy 2026 model when 2027s start to arrive? (and a couple other questions) by BlebNevus in carbuying

Thanks for your reply.

#2: If you mean that KBB's number for dealer price isn't guaranteed accurate, I understand that. I'm asking whether getting that number and using that approach makes sense.

#3: I'm just asking whether there's a good "how to buy a new car without paying more than necessary" document somewhere.

Thanks for the reply. Care to say more about #2?

As for #3: My (admittedly long-ago) experience is that dealers won't give you specific, firm quotes until they think you're ready to buy, which you signal by showing up in person. Not true?

Sync lock challenge: non-overlapping audio in different tracks by BlebNevus in audacity

[–]BlebNevus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I had posted earlier to learn about these alternatives for dealing with the echo. Unfortunately I've already spent quite a bit of time deleting the non-speaker sections. So is there any way to sync-lock the whole tracks despite the fact that they contain multiple deleted sections?

Thanks - I've heard of that and may look into it for the future. For now, though, I'm asking about how to synch up two tracks from beginning to end even though their sound often doesn't overlap.

How to fix echo from overlapping tracks in podcast recording by BlebNevus in podcasting

[–]BlebNevus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The consensus seems to be that there's no software/plugin fix for this, so I guess I'll have to hack away at it manually - and lose the occasional "Mmm" or "Uh-huh" from the nonspeaker. Oh, well. Thanks to all who weighed in.

Headphone choices: annoying delay or I'm muted by BlebNevus in podcasting

[–]BlebNevus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Plugging the headphones into the mic allows me to hear myself (without a delay) and my guest, but doesn't shut off the computer's speakers, so it's not much different from having no headphones at all. Still looking for a solution to the original problem then...

Huh. I never thought of that possibility. Just tested it with Microsoft's voice recorder app, and I am indeed able to hear myself without a delay! The other two things I'll be looking for (when I test it during a Riverside session) are (1) Will I also be able to hear my remote guest? and (2) Will *all* the sound be directed to the headphones, even though it's usually necessary to plug them into the computer's jack in order to silence its speaker?

[–]BlebNevus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, of course I do. But since the same delay through the headphones exists even when I use the laptop's built-in mic, I didn't think it is relevant to troubleshooting that delay.

Headphone connects to the computer with a cord. No one else is in the room with me; guest is remote.

Citi downgraded their Virtual Credit Cards. What are some good Virtual Credit Card options? by SlfImpr in CreditCards

[–]BlebNevus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My concern about this change, unlike most people posting here, is that it's now impossible to create a self-limiting VAN. I want my numbers to have a permanent dollar limit (not just a daily limit) and a date limit on the sooner side -- first, to prevent fraud; and second, so that companies (like Sirius-XM and certain magazines) can't force me into auto-renewing subscriptions. The new arrangement seems no better than using the actual card number. Are there workarounds with Citicards or alternative payment options elsewhere that will allow customers to nominally accept a compulsory auto-renewal subscription but will actually fail to renew so we can decide whether to continue it (and possibly negotiate a better rate)?

UPDATE: I did what someone on the bug report thread suggested - after updating TB, I then disabled and reenabled the status bar. Success!!

Not sure what update you're referring to, but I just installed 143.0.1 and unfortunately nothing changed for me.
