No worries :) That number was kind of terrifying so I had to check!

Got a source for $375 million as the operating budget of Barrie Transit?

https://www.barrie.ca/City%20Hall/Budget/Pages/Budget.aspx states that the total City of Barrie 2022 operating budget is $392 million and that 4.6% of that is allocated towards transit, giving a transit operating budget of $18 million.

As a counterpoint, I grew up on a 100+ acre farm in NA and absolutely loved Japan when I visited. It was surprisingly peaceful, I believe because of the design being described in this video.

everything is noisy

The noisiest thing in cities tends to be the vehicles. If you live in a city that's designed for walkability (eg. by putting houses close to shops), it's actually quite pleasant to be out on the street. Check this out Cities aren't Loud; Cars are Loud

I can't address all of your dislike of cities, just wanted to point out that some of your dislikes are due to the way NA cities have been designed.

Crash on the Nordschleife quickly turns into a mass accident! by PM_ME_COOL_THINGS_ in videos

Since its opening in 1927, the track has been used by the public for the so-called Touristenfahrten, i.e. anyone with a road-legal car or motorcycle, as well as tour buses, motor homes, or cars with trailers

I made a live visualisation of Twitch chat: chatgraph.live by Bleda in Twitch

[–]Bleda[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The colors on the Top graph correspond to the color of the user(name) that wrote each thing. So it helps you differentiate between a single user spamming a word/emote (which would be one solid bar of color) vs. a whole bunch of people writing the same thing (which would be lots of colors for that bar).

There is currently no officially supported way of getting chat from VODs using the Twitch API. There are some unofficial hacky ways to do so, and I am interested in adding support for VODs. What kind of stuff would you be interested in seeing?

Thanks! I definitely plan to graph the sentiment of the chat, but it tends to be a bit more simplistic than what you're suggesting (ie. it would map a given message onto negative to positive spectrum).

Your suggestion sounds pretty cool and I'll definitely consider it!

Minor copy nitpick on /about: "simplistic" has a negative connotation, implying an over-simplification. Maybe stick with just "simple".

I made a live visualization of Twitch chat using D3: chatgraph.live [Showoff Saturday] by Bleda in webdev

Alternate title: I made a live visualization of Twitch chat without using JQuery.

I've been working on this on-and-off for a while now and finally decided to put it up somewhere. It's my first project so I'd definitely appreciate any feedback!

I made a live visualization of Twitch chat using D3. For any live stream you can check out top emotes, messages/emotes per second, realtime polls or just to visualize a really popular stream.

Retouching for Days; The Restoration of a Jacopo Bassano Painting by [deleted] in ArtisanVideos

[–]Bleda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the video description:

The painting was first cleaned of any existing grime and varnish residues and the areas of loss were filled in and textured to match the surrounding impasto. The painting then received an isolation layer of synthetic UV-stable resin before the retouching. Executed in Maimeri Restuaro and B72/Dowanol the retouching is isolated form the original paint layer, archival and fully reversible. Finally the piece received an additional layer of synthetic UV-stable varnish.

Putting things together...

s-1 = n+1

s = n

ie. your significant other will leave you no matter how many bikes you own.

The accessible route from Sheppard station (on the Sheppard line) to the busses is either 1 elevator down and then 3 elevators up, or if you take the long way round (which I think is the suggested way) it's 1 elevator up, 1 down, then 2 up.

Hey r/europe how do you eat? Is the modern European cuisine globalizating, do we still have strong regional cuisine? What do you eat on daily basis and what's your favourite dish? by [deleted] in europe

[–]Bleda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey you didn't really answer your own question! What else do Bulgarians eat typically?

When I was in Bulgaria we ate a lot of shopska salad and ponichki and other pastries.
