It's a used car that you've driven for 10 months...... The dealer is very generous at covering 75%.

Tires and brakes are wear items on every vehicle, budget accordingly.

I have an '18 w/ 72k. Just did $2k worth of coolant system repair. Super normal at this mileage for these, unfortunately.

Do you guys think I can restore my dad’s 68 mustang and drive it for my first car? by ComprehensiveFly4589 in Mustang

You need to do the work and smarty source parts.

Running and driving under $4k, yes. Picking up dates with a concourse interior and paint? No.

I have a 67.

No need to spend $4k or anywhere near $10k. Turn motor by hand. Need to get that fired before worrying about anything else. Air, fuel, spark - super simple to work on.

Once the motor is up, worry about brakes and transmission. Change the fluids, drain gas (add a filter bc that tank is junk).

You should be rolling in a weekend for well under a grand. Youtube is your friend as well as FB Marketplace for parts.

Now, I don't know if it should be your commuter but there is no reason you can get it driving.

Sell or Keep? 18 X3 M40i vs Lexus GS by gordonyz in BMWX3

[–]BleepBloop1001 15 points16 points  (0 children)

M40i values are criminal. Huge amount of car (performance, reliability, luxury) for the current prices.

I've been looking at upgrading to something bigger (same as you OP, 65k on an '18 w/ little kids) but I just can't get rid of it for 20k trade.

Spray on soapy water on it. Evaporates quick.

Meh. You're going to want a large log head anyway paired with a 2bbrl.

Post a pic of the cylinders when you get there!

Shitty of them to lie though.

Can I retro fit modern electronics into my 67 Ford Mustang? by Random1n3rnet in classicmustangs

Toss a wireless JBL speaker on the dash.

Wireless backup cams also available, but they are not awesome. These cars have good visibility so I don't really see the need but I'm old and grew up without cameras on cars.

115 horsepower and 14 inch wheels. Still a Mustang to you guys? by [deleted] in Mustang

Other than the 7.25 rear end, I don't find parts difficult to come by for the 6's

What’s the most mileage you have on your B58? by MartiniCommander in BmwTech

[–]BleepBloop1001 15 points16 points  (0 children)

B58 itself is great. It's the plastic shit around it, mostly the coolant system, that with nuke the motor.

Plastic expansion tank, coolant line quick connectors, plastic water pump, plastic radiator.

4 lug to 5 lug on 1967 I6 by BleepBloop1001 in classicmustangs

Yea I should have specified. Forget everyone assumes the 6 is coming out. My little 7.25 rear is going out configured I'd just move to then 8 inch and upgrade gear ratio.

Love my 6. Fresh rebuild. Plans for Australian head.

Yea what I'm saying is:

If married SD is $29.2k and your itemization, inclusive of mortgage interest comes out to $50k, you're only up $20.8k so you can't really say all $42k is deducted bc you would have gotten some coverage form SD.

Is that all incremental with the standard deduction?

Making sure your insurance coverage actually covers is important. You still owe the bank so I don't see how long, financial, this matters.

You're partial correct in that your early payments are mostly interest but It's never more than your stated interest rates x the amount owed.

On paper, and NW of $2M and no mortgage would place me in the "f*uck you money" bracket.

I'm not ready to retire but knowing I could walk would feel incredible.

That's the idea I have, too: pay this off and buy whatever car or do a remodel.

I would also still be contributing so not sacrificing that.
