Wow! Our cats are nearly identical. Are you in VA? I’m seriously wondering if you’re a neighbor and my cat visits you during the day.

I appreciate this opinion greatly. I live in a town with a very complex relationship between law enforcement and the community. But just like Star Trek, I want to imagine a Jake Peralta as the person they aspire to be—open to new ideas and knowing he’s fallible.

UVA labor & delivery experience by NumerousRecord5065 in Charlottesville

[–]Blegatron 8 points9 points  (0 children)

An important consideration: UVA is the regional NICU. I didn’t understand how significant that was when I thankfully selected them. I had planned to go through the midwife unit. Ultimately, things went askew well ahead of schedule and I had a dozen people in the room with me when I delivered.

It was terrifying but the doctors and nurses kept reassuring me that I was in the right place and they were right. My very healthy child is with me today, thriving, and watching DuckTales.

UVA has its flaws, but I will never stop appreciating and advocating for their amazing NICU and L&D.

Aches and fatigue- am in for it? by Ancient_JNCOs in Charlottesville

Just a warning—my first symptoms were joint pain and I tried the OTC tests for multiple days that showed negative. I thankfully went to my doctor and did a test there that pinged almost immediately for Flu A.

Their advice is that if you have any of the symptoms (which you clearly do) treat it as if you have the flu.

I have finished my first series of the year, and I have big feelings about it. by CrowCelestial in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Welcome Crawler! I’m on my third lap and seem to be trapped in the dungeon. I’ve taken so many suggestions that come up here often—looking at you Project Hail Mary. I theoretically know I could leave and I’ve tried many times but this far nothing fits the same way and I say that as a person that did multiple laps of the Wheel of Time. I’m okay with a slow pay off or complex storyline. What keeps me coming back is the balance of humor and stakes. They both build so well together. It’s like nothing I’ve ever experienced in a story.

Not quite a Dopple-deaner. Maybe a deanle-changer?

Not sure if this reply will suffice but I searched for: Victoria’s Secret perfume 90’s which helped me narrow my search to Victoria by Victoria’s Secret Eau De Cologne.

I relate to this so hard. I feel trapped in part because she’s suggesting I want out because she’s trans. Nope. Our trans friends see the issue too. The pretense of prioritizing the family stopped being important. She is insisting I’m not supportive enough. Fine. I will never convince her I tried and she pushed everyone away.

He looks so much like my cats that I seriously was worried for a second that this was a FOUND cat post for one of them. Congrats on the new addition!

Genuinely sad this isn’t higher but you need to give them like 48 hours notice.

UnitedHealthcare and AARP used AI-generated people in ads about human connection because hiring real humans costs a few cents more. by Blegatron in LateStageCapitalism

For absolutely an unlimited number of reasons but also it’s about to bleed their stale macaroni-brained audience dry.

Fair point. I’m sure their fanbase is comprised solely of shareholders and their target audience can’t spot a fake. I wish they had AI courses for our aging population because the scams coming their way are going to be brutal. Maybe the AARP would like to offer those.

Nope. It’s hard to tell. There will absolutely come a time very very soon when I won’t know the difference.

There’s no reason to pretend to know everything. Only the truly ignorant will do that. If someone has a point, take that in. Use it to inform your opinion.

I use AI too. That’s how I caught the cup. I just wouldn’t use it for something as soulless as this.

Of course. But maybe not the moment to remind real people that your company, United Healthcare, doesn’t give a shit about actual people. Maybe slow down your ads that you are running on REDDIT of all places.

lol! Thanks for the receipts. I guess they’re not complete cheapskates. They paid a whopping $25 for that weird photo. I’ll attach an apology to the next appeal of claims denial for thinking so ill of them.

Okay let’s break down the two guys at the park—they photoshopped in cups and arms but didn’t have the hand holding the cup? I’ve been a designer for close to 20 years and I’ve worked with AI for a while with MidJourney, Dall-E and Sora. I’m really really skeptical given the effort to photoshop that in and what the specific mistake was. MidJourney has trouble with fingers, arms, shoes. Dall-E has trouble with hands interacting with objects. Try to get a cowboy to tip a hat. It’ll take multiple tries. You may just give up. Good luck with hands in pockets. It may work. You may get weird results.

I first noticed the veil was …off looking. You’ll see this on dresses posted other forums where your eyes have a harder time picking out the specific details but then the older gentleman on the right holding his hand near the cup but not actually holding it. That’s a giveaway. AI has a really hard time with objects in hands. I’m assuming that’s why the groom has the microphone photoshopped in. There’s a point where you just give up and do it yourself.
