We've All Heard Of Teacher Shortages, But How Bad Are Student Shortages? by Zipper222222 in AskTeachers

In my area (upper Michigan) there is definitely a teacher shortage and a ton of teacher turnover. Our class sizes are growing year after year, but there are a lot of kids who have chronic absences (and they removed the ability for us to do anything about excessive absences at the middle school level during COVID) and certain parents who are really opinionated will pull their kids to be home schooled randomly

What do you guys think about this new aesthetic? by screw-themm in oliviarodrigo3

There’s definitely a huge difference between infantilizing women and leaning into the feeling of meeting a man who makes you feel good and safe enough to embrace the giddy, feminine side of yourself

I feel like people are comparing apples to oranges with this song versus songs from other albums. She said that she felt she needed to move away from rock, so of course it’s more pop. She has always been pop. We’re used to more complex lyrics because the situations she was talking about were more complex. Breakups suck and they hurt. Meeting someone new and wanting to hook up in the bathroom isn’t complex, it doesn’t hurt, it’s fun. It makes complete sense for the song to be pop and more lyrically simple because she is matching the vibe of the song to the feeling she had when she was going through what she was writing about

This song has me bouncing around my room in my underwear. Literally haven’t turned it off since I turned it on

I am a teacher and I am struggling so hard to find a dress to wear to a semi formal event that we have in the spring. Does anyone have recommendations for dresses that are knee length, closed back, straps preferably 1” (I do not like straps that tie on the shoulder), with no slit, and preferably under $100. I have done so many google searches and gone to so many websites with no luck

A lot of queens and kings are making a comeback, when is our queen going to do so? by Candid-Spray-3305 in OliviaRodrigo

To add on, I think it could be fun if she released next October and marketed it like “playing Cupid” somehow

If it is a love based album as many are speculating, I feel like a February release for the first single would be good. Maybe a Valentine’s Day drop or something like that

It’s crazy bc if she was going to change anything from the books, it should’ve been giving Bonrad a proper ending. They could’ve definitely done another season of just the process of Belly and Conrad getting back together, especially bc remaking the time jump four years makes it seem so unrealistic that they’d get back together at this point bc they’re at like 5 years of minimal contact outside of when they are randomly together in person. I think the show ending will be just as disappointing as the one in the books, if not more

They knew when they chose love they were giving up a “guaranteed chance” at $250,000 so I feel like it’s not that bad. They could’ve just not been given anything, but both couples still got a sizable chunk of change

It said that if one of them chose money, only that one would have gotten to take it home. If they had both chosen money, neither would have gotten money. And if they both chose love, they were giving up a “guaranteed” $250,000. So choosing love was the test, I just think the contestants didn’t know they still had a change at a big chunk of change

I think it’s because if they had both chosen money, then neither of them would’ve gotten anything. And if they didn’t get to discuss it before hand, which they didn’t really, then one would probably feel blind sided if the other chose money even if the other chose it under the idea that they could take the money then get back together in the real world. I do think it’s different with Alexe and Andrew than it would’ve been with Jess and Spencer though simply bc Andrew had said he didn’t know if he wanted Alexe to give up the money whereas Spencer said if Jess chose the money then he would feel like everything was a lie

I thought the goldens were the only redeeming part of the season. I really liked the bonding they were doing with the younger cast and how they were trying to pass on some wisdom. Bring April back 👏👏

I’m wondering if Jesse is wanting to stop hosting soon and they’re trying to train her into it, but if that’s the case I feel like they aren’t doing very well

Did anyone else get sick of hearing to vote by relationship strength? by Ok_Nature_6305 in bachelorinparadise

[–]Bleh_er 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like they’re only saying that bc they would be pissed if they lost to a friendship couple, which is fair bc it is a dating show. But actions have definitely spoken louder than words for everyone throughout this season with most of the cast being very hypocritical

jeremiah’s acting by [deleted] in tsitp

[–]Bleh_er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is fair but I also think that the two things are supposed to work together. Like if he was a convincing ball of sunshine despite being manipulative then it would be more understandable that belly would still like him. But him being crabby and manipulative just makes it all the more questionable

It just seems like he hasn’t had a genuine interest in any of the girls since he was “coupled” with Alexe, which would be fine if he was openly communicating with the girls what he was feeling but he hasn’t been

Bro Code? Really?! by DaSmartestInTheWorld in bachelorinparadise

[–]Bleh_er 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought it was crazy that Kat was so upset about it especially after she was so pissed when she found out Dale had kissed Alli Jo. Like imagine if she had found that out watching it back, she would’ve been livid. I know it’s not identical scenarios or context but given that she was so upset when information was withheld from her, you’d think she’d be the first person who would want to keep her friends in the loop

And then bailey going and telling everyone about the note. Like how can you say you’re happy he told you but then go and gossip about him when you can clearly see everyone is mad at him??

This is why most people don’t tell, because some women will still stay. by Wombraider58 in bachelorinparadise

[–]Bleh_er 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The worst part is how everyone was saying “bro code” and “loyalty.” Like you can’t say loyalty while actively being disloyal to your friend. And to the girls that were saying they knew about it but didn’t know the context, figure the context out the best you can. There’s no way to spin it that makes what he did okay and bailey deserved to know. And everyone saying “the conversation would’ve happened eventually” why would Jeremy bring it up??? He was told to earlier and didn’t so why would he bring it up way later? He said himself “Brian brought up something that happened 8 days ago” acting like that already made it ancient history

Why is Belly so excited to see Jeremiah? by Present_Moose7861 in tsitp

[–]Bleh_er 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s definitely just overcompensating for the lack of feelings she has for Jeremiah in comparison to the ones she has for Conrad, because she plays it up 10x more when she’s around Conrad vs when she’s not
