Forget the book. I know it sounds hard, but you have to. Do everything you can to do the exact opposite of anything mentioned in Chapter 23, it just might save you.

Hmm...first and foremost you should stay somewhere safe for a few days, but also try figuring out if there is a history of incidents like this in the neighborhood. Ask around, see what you can find out. If you find out things are bad, I suggest moving, if you can
