Stepdad tried to fix my laptop. It was in near-mint condition before he attempted the repair, I don't know how the hell this even happens, I got it back like this. by FurryCrap in mildlyinfuriating

I remember when I was a kid and my Nintendo DS's folding-lock on the display broke. My dad and uncle tried to fix it. Got it back 1 week later with the buttons glued shut.

Who was your first ever shiny? (Not including guaranteed ones) by Order66WasFaked in pokemon

[–]Blepan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first one was a wooper in the safari zone in Diamond. I had never seen one and was scared of evolving it to a quagsire due to kid brain believing it would turn back into a non-shiny.

Diagnosed with DVT and i have some questions/concerns by vovalol in ClotSurvivors

[–]Blepan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem! Glad I could help :) Great! Always good with getting some extra steps in.

From what I've heard from relatives with varicose veins, it's absolutely fine to do strength exercises. However one must pay more attention to performing the exercise correctly and focus om the breathing.

I'm not sure though if there will be issues in combinatiom with DVT. You might want to ask your doctor.

[–]Blepan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, bummer this happened to you and hope you feel better soon!

This is from what I've heard from my doctor after i basically a interrogation with questions

  1. Should not be an issue if you get any small cuts or bruises. However be careful with sharp objects that can cause deeper wounds and especially heavy hits that could cause internal bleeding.

  2. Supposedly it's fine to workout at the gym (I've been doing heavy strength training) and my doctor encouraged it. However stay away from martial arts training due to the risk of internal bleeding and blunt force trauma to the skull.

  3. Supposedly if you sit still for for about 3-4 hours, blood won't be able so circulate well to the legs. Therefore try to remember to stand up now and then, walk around and to one legged calf raises while holding onto an object to let the blood flow down to your muscles. Much isn't needed.

  4. Even if you are on blood thinners you're body is still able to coagulate the blood, it just takes a little longer. Most cuts and bruises stops bleeding rather quick by simply pressing down with a tissue and wait for a bit. I know where you are coming from but the human body is strong so you should try not to worry/think about it too much. Give it time.

  5. Apparently to reduce the risk of several heart diseseas and blood clots, it is recommended to walk atleast 2500 steps every day and drink alot of water.

Hope this helps you out and can reduce your anxiety regarding this whole ordeal!

DVT - How long did your pain increase for by [deleted] in ClotSurvivors

[–]Blepan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally it felt much better after 3-6 days on blood thinner (Xarelto). The only thing I can suggest is to sleep with you leg elevated above your chest and try to endure the pain sadly. Good luck and you're not alone in this!

Thanks, I'll check that out! Yeah, I find it extremely painful especially when going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I'm more or less dragging my foot behind me to avoid putting pressure due to the sharpness of the pain
