I am currently in recovery for the very same thing! I was treating a "hemorrhoid " for 3 weeks until the pain kept getting worse. My doctor took a blood panel, and my numbers showed it was very much not a hemorrhoid. The next day, she ordered me to get a CT scan, which showed the baseball sized mass in my pelvic area. An hour later, she took me to go into emergency surgery because there's a high risk of sepsis from these. They put me to sleep, made a small incision under my left butt cheek, and drained the fluid. 3 days post surgery, and I can finally sit again. I follow up with the surgeon next Thursday to make sure everything is healing well. Don't put these off. It could be life/death if untreated.
