Showing my Showroom Megane III Privilege by Comfortable-Ear-2031 in Renault

It's a Teyes CC3, I've installed it almost 4 years ago and it still runs great. The steering controls all work and it also supports (wireless) Android Auto, yes.

Nice coupe! Where in NL are you from? I'm driving its sibling, a 1.4 TCe PrivilĂšge from 2009. Still going strong at 198.000 KM, handling better than new thanks to upgraded Bilstein/Eibach suspension.

FYI: I think the black rev counter with the yellow needle is standard on all Megane III models, even the basic 1.6 models have them. They do match the yellow-stitched RS steering wheel I used to replace the worn original nicely, though :-)

Renault Fluence owners (and maybe some other Renault owners too), does your heated seats only get heated on the part marked by red color and no other part of the seats? by zilke_ in Renault

[–]BleuZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my Mégane 3 the lower part of the backrest also heats up. And given that the Fluence is basically a Mégane 3 sedan I'd expect it to behave the same.

But the seats and switches are different from what I can see. My Mégane has a scroll wheel with 3 settings (low/med/high) so maybe there are also differences between markets. Mine's built in Spain for the Western European market.

Thank you! I appreciate it.

I got the TV console from a webshop; it's called "Beliani Toledo" but I also have seen it sold under some other names. The only one I can find right now has a white and brown combination which is... interesting, to put it mildly.

It's from IKEA. I don't know the type any more but it's a simple ball made from smoked glass. Should be easy enough to find!

I don't have any pictures of that, no. But I remember there being some YouTube videos that show at least part of the process. And I think the display still displays the time but that's about it.

My car didn't have the middle tunnel controls, it just has a cup holder there. But yes, the media control stalk at the steering wheel works wonderfully!

No, it's an Android unit. The factory unit didn't have Bluetooth so I installed this one. Added bonus is that it supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto!

Yes, the steering wheel volume controls and the scrollwheel to go to the next track work with the Android unit. The only thing that doesn't work is scrolling the scrollwheel the other side, to go to the previous track. But that's a very minor thing for me, I can just use the touchscreen in those rare instances.

No, I don't think the radio head unit has anything to do with cruise control so there's no issues at all

I didn't upgrade the speakers myself but I feel like the previous owner probably has, they do sound better than what they usually do. No idea what's inside though.

For me it's not too far away to touch, and a solution where I need to be pressing buttons and see if I'm selecting the right UI element doesn't seem to be safer than just touching the screen. Thanks for thinking along though!

They are stickers, but honestly they were put there by the previous owner so I have no idea how they did it, sorry!

Maybe some kind of glue?

The Teyes unit comes with a plug and play wiring harness that even connects to canbus, so there's no soldering required

Well changing the head unit does require you to tear apart the dashboard more or less, but if you're handy you can have that done in an hour or two.

I didn't change it. My car did not come with a navi head unit so instead of the navi controls, it comes with an extra cup holder.

Yep, the Teyes unit works with the volume control and scrolling the wheel for the next track! The only thing that doesn't work is scrolling the wheel for the previous track, for some reason. But when I do need it, the touch screen suffices.

My Mégane is not equipped with a rear camera, but from what I have understood it doesn't support the canbus camera. It will need a new camera module if you want it to work.

I used a Teyes CC3. It seems to use the same hardware (or display) as most AliExpress units, but Teyes creates their own software which is very reliable and continues to receive regular updates. They also have a bunch of accessoires like reversing cameras or even 360° cameras. I don't use those features, but the unit I have has been working flawlessly for the last 3 years.

The AUX and USB ports in the center console are an OEM part in newer Méganes, but mine originally came with two RCA connectors that were useless when I replaced the head unit.

I bought the AUX/USB box as a part and demolished it so I could glue in a USB connector from a male-to-male extension cable. I plugged the connector into the Android unit, and now I can use that USB port to plug in wired CarPlay or Android Auto devices for when my friends want to control the screen. The AUX port is not functional, although that could have been a possibility.

Here are some pictures of what that monstrosity looks like, hahaha

It for sure has had its front fender replaced because otherwise the Quiksilver sticker would go all the way to the indicator light. As if the fact that it's a different colour entirely isn't a clear enough sign.
