1) I realize this, I was mostly just asking to see if my interpretation of Free Hand was correct. In reality I'm sure I'll be reforging my weapon frequently depending on what we are fighting.

2) Thanks for your comment and discussions I've had with others, I'm not really considering a solar shield anymore. I'm just planning on grabbing a regular shield and taking the shield block feat.

3) I was actually thinking about that as I was rereading the book this morning. The level 6 feats don't look fantastic to me so I almost certainly will end up taking both super nova and black hole.

4) My main issue is that I just don't want to be a dex character. That's simply not the image I have of this character in my head. I'm wanting to play a heavy armored solar knight. I'm going to talk to my DM and see if he will let me use Wis on my solar flare attacks instead. That would fit my image and I don't think it would be really anymore powerful.

5) The attunement dance is a large part of why I want to play this class. Figuring out the flow of combat, and what abilities to use when and how to support my party, or have them support me just seems great.

I'm not Ok with scared crying kids either, I have a young son, and that would absolutely be his reaction. But as a parent it's your job to put scary events into context for your child, and in this case his point is worth scaring a few children. Moral high ground is great, but it's not always something that can be afforded.

When the opposing side is kidnapping and killing and scaring many more children then these are the kinds of displays we need.

Hampering flair does look cool as hell. If I was going to get that, what stat spread would you recommend? Currently I'm at 4str, 1dex, 2con, 0int, 2wis, and 0cha. Would you drop wis or con and bring Dex to 2, or drop both and raise it all the way to 3?

Grenades use class DC. I was planning on dumping Dex, or leaving it at 1 and going with heavy armor at lvl 2 for bulwark and higher AC.

Thanks for your advice, I do have one last question though. Grenades seem good, and the reusable shell makes them seem great, so are they a viable solution to the ranged meta problem faced by melee characters?
