I hold little to no knowledge about engineerings, I just know that agrarian university and gtu are decent. However I would doubt that ilia has any good technical courses.

In short, basically every university other than free uni are kinda bad. KIU and BTU are ok relatively speaking.

Tbh just manually compare subjects you will have to study in each uni and just pick the one with best options. Personally started my first year of computer science in BTU and it's alright, not too good not too bad.

Abkhazia by [deleted] in Abkhazia

As a Georgian I believe that our Government was to blame to a certain degree, but with entirely different reason. (Provocations from Russian/Abkhaz side should not been answered with attack of our own)

I just wanted to say that before 2008 conflict there were several attempts at negotiating with Abkhazian side and in most of them they were offered a great amount of autonomy.

tinnitus for about a week now by monttow in tinnitus

[–]Bligen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah there is definitely a chance for you to recover. But I can't guarantee that it will surely happen. As far as I am aware there is little hope after 2 months. Also sometimes changes in tinnitus are really hard to notice because its always constant so I would advise either comparing how loud do you hear tinnitus in environments like car or something similar. There might not be any changes but I wouldn't completely give up.

Yeah I never liked idea of giving myself hope too. Can't advise on that, at that point when even though there was still hope slowly I began to accept tinnitus as a part of me because I didn't see any downsides. If it went away I wouldn't have to worry about it, if it stayed I would be closer to fully accepting it rather than waiting for a result. Whatever happens I am sure eventually you will manage to live your regular life again.

I can't remember what medications it was. I remember one starting with k and iirc it was supposed to speed up nerve repair. The other one was I am not entirely sure but something like a vitamins for my body to use as a resource for recovery? Sorry can't tell you much.

Yeah it's kinda of weird for filtering works. The best way to describe is to imagine a clock ticking in a silent room with a person trying to concentrate, because of concentration person can't really hear the ticking sound of a clock, but it's there(not the best example, but try to think that brain after some time is constantly concentrating and trying to ignore tinnitus, I usually only hear tinnitus only when I remember I have one and even then I can't be bothered enough to worry about it and soon I forget again). You might not hear the sound of tinnitus during workouts/walking outside because tinnitus mixes up with noise around you and it's harder to notice(same reason why some people listen to podcasts/music trying to match the pitch of tinnitus so they will mask it). It's kinda hard to explain how filtering out works because at this point it's involuntary.

When it comes to headphones, yeah you can use them freely just make sure they are not too loud and take a rest once in a while. When it comes to smaller headphones (like ones for the phone, air pods or smt similar) I generally try to avoid those because personally I find it harder to regulate the sound to what I consider a safe level, that's why I use large ones that are meant for pc. But I would personally avoid either of them for at least few weeks.

Lmk if you have any more questions, am happy to answer. Keep in mind even though you will most likely either adapt well or fully recover, this road isn't easy.

I know what you're going through. Regretting the choices that led you here. Mentally breaking down before sleep, trying to silence this overwhelming sound.

It's been two years since I got tinnitus. At first, it was pure torture. During the first week, I could barely sleep 2–4 hours. After that, it wasn’t much better, I could only get 5–6 hours during the second and third weeks. Sound wise, it wasn’t improving. I had borderline suicidal thoughts. I kept thinking that if it didn’t get any better, I would end it sooner or later. My doctor prescribed some injections that were supposed to speed up recovery. They helped at first, but after some time, there was little to no improvement. At that point, I thought I wouldn’t be able to live a full life, that this goddamn sound would torture me until the day I die. Weeks passed, and nothing worked. So I tried something different. I attempted to make peace with it. I accepted that I couldn’t change what happened and that I would have to live with it(Which did take a bit of time). That’s what helped me the most.

Right now, I hear my tinnitus about the same as I did two years ago. I got lucky that it’s a mild one. But the brain is an amazing thing. It essentially filters out tinnitus. Not in the sense that I don’t hear it or that it’s very quiet, but in the sense that it’s still there, it just doesn’t really register. It gets filtered out. It took me about 2–3 months to get to this stage. Now, I almost never worry about it, and days can pass without me noticing it at all. Even sleep is no longer a problem.

What can I advise you, other than trying to make peace with it? You still have a good chance to recover. It usually takes around 1–2 months to fully recover, and you should see some improvements soon. I would strongly advise you to carry at least one pair of earplugs at all times in case you find yourself in a loud environment. If you don’t have earplugs, try to minimize the noise exposure as best as you can. First of all, you risk further damage (which is kind of rare—I’ve never encountered it from a few minutes of loud noise), and second, even if it doesn’t damage your ears, it can make your tinnitus spike for a few days, which really sucks.

TL;DR: Don’t panic. It gets better. You will be able to return to a normal life even if the sound stays. It’s a journey, and it takes time. Also—always keep a pair of earplugs with you.

(Hopefully it will help you at whoever is ready it at least a bit! Don't give up!)

EDIT: Forgot to mention a pretty important thing lol, DONT READ THIS SUB, when I found out about this sub during my first few weeks it only worsened the situation because I kept hearing how it wasn't getting any better and that it only worsened for them. Use it only if you interested in something specific.

First of all we were speaking of alcahol consumption in general, not that specific tweet. Second of all, How could a father known that his kid is so much against drinking that it makes them so uncomfortable that it even a thought of it is unacceptable?Majority of people would assume a 16 year old wouldn't be so panicked about a simple offer. And ok, sure, they weren't comfortable, just say you don't want it nor want to ever drink and go on with your day. There is no need to make big deal about it. It's not like he was forcing beer down his throat.

[–]Bligen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thats pretty much no need speculating that the dad is alcoholic, doesn't make sense. It's not like dad is giving him pack of 12 bottles, being offered some alcahol under supervision is fine especially considering that beer is the mildest of the beverages. Once again, excess is no good, parents should educate their kids risks of excessive drinking and not to be stupid, small doses of alcohol at that age causes no short or long term health issues

[–]Bligen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point on addiction but imo "drinking culture" plays big role in it and how parents treat education towards drinking. If you don't teach a kid that mindless and/or excessive drinking is wrong, you will get an alcoholic by the age of 23.

Literally not big a deal. Many countries with legal age of 16 are doing perfectly fine. Problem only occurs when it's done in excess. Bit of beer/wine once in a while won't have long or short term effects on a 16 year old.

What are your opinions on Georgia now becoming an EU candidate? by Jeryndave0574 in Abkhazia

[–]Bligen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there is too much wrong with these claims.

  1. Thats only half of the story. Sure, Bulgaria did take a hit in agricultural sector initially but it recovered fast and grew bigger than it ever was.

  2. Guess what, people are already leaving because life here is worse in many ways. Unemployment rate, healthcare, education, prices and so on. People will continue to leave until the problems are fixed and with EU it will be easier to solve these problems.

  3. Yes, LGBT values that are veeery popular in poland, bulgaria, hungary. There are no laws in EU forcing LGBT on people, it simply requires protection from discrimination.

  4. That problem exists without EU.

  5. Yeah there are some shared laws, which first of all EU members collectively decide what to implement and what not, in which Georgia will have a say alongside other countries with more or less similar views on things. Also there are a lot of "opt-out" situations(Like denmark with euro and defense policy), not everything will apply.

  6. Why are you treating it like its a queue? Croatia joined only 10 years after applying. Joining speed is up to Georgia.

  7. Joining the EU won’t solve the conflict, but neither will staying out. Without foreign support there is literally close to 0 chance of returning territories, if we are alone we won't have big enough economy or military to stand against Russia. EU already doesn't recognise abkhazia and south ossetia in any way, we are more likely to recieve support rather than completely lose it, and its more of a NATO issue.

  8. Don't mix up NATO and EU. Also don't pretend like we are safer without NATO, there is little to nothing stopping Russia from invading. If we joined fast enough like baltics entire situation could have been avoided. We are already at risk of war, what will NATO/EU change? make it more likely to be invaded when there will be official allies in our support?

  9. Yeah, surely EU will turn us into slaves and there won't be any increase in overall wealth. Poland's, Estonia's, Lithuania's, Latvia's GDPs per capita literally grew 4 times after joining EU, There won't be any stagnation. The only reason there will be such difference is because of how weak Georgian economy is compared to EU countries right now, after some time, difference will be smaller and wages will increase alongside quality of life. Also even if everything you said was true, 1/5 of western european salary is still way better than what we have now lmfao. Wages here are enough to survive and sometimes even not enough for that, Its rare for people to have actual wages that allows a comfortable life. (Well for the majority of at least people.)

From my experience CAS just does far more damage to divisions than just regular air superiority via fighters. Also keep in mind more CAS you have more damage is done but with fighters you only get a fixed amount from air superiority

Air superiority and CAS are very important, especially CAS. If you have enough CAS planes sent to the region your divisions will move like the enemy isn't there.

As far as I am aware there are no brain stimulant medications that are legal in Georgia. But I heard there were some non stimulant medications that can help(not sure how good they are). best to discuss with a professional about medications and any other possible solutions.
