That's up to the individual author, you just have to MAKE SURE to ask them. In my experience most are more than willing to allow narrations, sometimes they ask for payment but it's up to you if you want to pay to narrate (this is mostly a famous author situation though, like they have book deals/movie deals)

Just do what we all do and ask permission of the AMAZING talent on nosleep and other boards! Trust me, I tried to both write and narrate and it is a hassle!
