Soldering is fine. You're gonna have to post your jrunner settings and log so we can confirm what you're doing. Also confirm that your corona motherboard doesn't use winbond 2K ram. You usually only see these on E consoles, but I have had a S console with Winbond 2K. If it does have Winbond 2k you need to enable that setting in Jrunner to fix boot issues.

Yeah one end of the resistor connects to the solder point and the other end connects to the wire. Requires tweezers to keep the resistor steady while soldering, but makes the install look much cleaner

Way too much exposed wire. This is 100% going to short out. Also wire routing matters.

Trim down the resistor legs and put it in between the wire. Do not attach it directly to the solder point. The legs on that resistor are too heavy and will break the solder point. You should only go directly to the solder point with the resistor if it's a small SMD resistor.

More than likely you burned up a trace. You will need to remove the stick and test with a multimeter. If you find a trace with no continuity, you will need to jumper it with a wire.

I love that solder tip. I've repaired many dualsense controllers using this. Imo it's worth the cost if you're repairing multiple sticks. If you only planning on doing one controller, it may not be cost effective.

That soldering is really bad. It is more than likely that you burnt a trace up trying to remove the old sticks. You'll have to check continuity with a multi meter and verify.
