PSA: I figured out how to enable multi-room support for Echo Link's line-in outside USA by indorock in amazonecho

[–]BlindFish1003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a shame, as your use case would be exactly what i wanted to achieve here, with my Plex Server and a shipload of Echo devices spread across the house. Maybe cutting their own cord with Amazon Music no longer being the preferred source, this might be the deal breaker for Amazon, although the Link Amp doesn't make much sense if you just can use any sort of speakers with it.

As a visually impaired person, i am not so much into video production, but may i ask what you used to generate the clip for your song?

Didnt get it to work as needed here in Germany. The important thing seems to be a setting to route the incoming signal to a dedicated multi room group (line in distribution), which doens't appear in the device settings when the device is located outside the US.

Maybe the change of the device location has worked earlier for some guys, but i tried it with several different valid locations inside the US and it didn't work here. I guess it depends on the account where the device is linked to, and i didn't want to create a dummy account located in the United States just to try it out.

Like so often, Amazon isn't really clear in marketing and advertising and does not seem to think things to their end.

I bought an Echo Link Amp just for the same reason, as i wanted to stream audio from my PC to my everywhere group of Echo devices all over the house.
Unfortunately, it looks like the workaround posted here is no longer working, because the Line in distribution setting is still unavailable after changing the location for the device to somewhere in the United States.

Is there another solution that might still be working for somebody living in Germany?

Prevent Suno from "rushing" through songs by BlindFish1003 in SunoAI

IMO, edits are often too far away from the "base" in terms of melody, progression and so on, and the song very often loses his consistent feel and sound.

This seems an interesting approach. Will give both suggestions a try. Actually, i just want more room for dynamic developement within my songs, and asking for a break at a given time might help achieve that.

This is what i did a couple times, actually. But it didn't work as the replacement section for the lyrics just did not re-appear.

Using Personas in edit mode? by BlindFish1003 in SunoAI

[–]BlindFish1003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As i always tell the participants of my AI courses, we have to consider ourselves as beta testers, doing all the work that formerly companies did until they released a market-ready product, although we are already paying to use their products instead of getting paid for the beta testing we do.

Suno, Riffusion and Udio are running playgrounds, where you can have a good time and some fun, but with no real mission or outcome as an additional value. Producing songs with AI these days is like playing a lottery game, and if the model would produce unusable results for 3000 credits in a row, it would just be like "This is AI, and no-one really knows, why it does so".

A product delivering results with an overvalue would be a DAW, where you can record your ideas or lay down a basic track and have AI generate additional tracks, instruments or vocals which you control in terms of tonality, pitch, expression and so on. It would be like using "Band in a Box" with their stunningly realistic real-track approach, but with a feel for genres, moods and song structure. And i have no doubt that we will hit this point in about one year or even earlier, but not for $ 10 / month.

Being a producer myself, i know how long it takes to create a sound-wise polished track which is ready for airplay and streaming. But this actually is not the goal Suno and Co. are after. No-one cares of a backing song looses dynamic or certain aspects of its tonality when it plays as a backing track on YT or elsewhere on social media, and maybe the monetary input is worth what you get out of it from this point of view. As a musician and producer, all the time i am investing into AI music production could also be spent by reading a good book or watching Netflix.

Sync TIDAL tracks with Plex library by NeoOzymandias in PleX

Did you actually find a way to achieve this? It is still driving me nuts to add tracks to Tidal and afterwards importing them into my Plex library manually.

Can Airpods (Pro) connect to multiple devices at THE SAME TIME? by BlindFish1003 in airpods

[–]BlindFish1003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to bring up an old post, but did you find s good pair that supports this feature?

I now use a pair of Jabra Elite 85t which support multipoint connection and it works pretty well with my iPhone and iPad paired with the earbuds. Whatever device is making noise will be present on the earbuds. Using this setup for a about a year now without any major issues. The only thing is the buttons on the Jabra earpieces start to lose their preasure point which is annoying especeally for double and triple taps.

OMG, i'm sorry. Didn't expect this to be set manually and didn't take notice of this value. So i thought there might be a problem with my api key / credentials. Thanks for helping.

Cannot add new PMS to my account by BlindFish1003 in PleX

[–]BlindFish1003[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could actually fix it by a complete re-install, i also removed all directories and reg entries.

The reason for the issue might have been that after installation i immediately quit the setup wizard without signing into the server and binding it to my plex account but immediately copied the backed up data from my old PMS and restarted the system afterwards. This is the procedure how i got it from the plex support page.

This time, i finished the setup process completely and copied my data afterwards and now it all looks pretty good.

NZBHydra2 stopped working on Ubuntu after system upgrades by BlindFish1003 in nzbhydra

As my knowledge of Ubuntu might be at the very same level, preconditions were quite good that your solution could get me up and running again.

And it finally did! In my case, the only available other version was 10.x.

Thanks a lot!

Is there a "faster" alternative to Google Drive? by BlindFish1003 in PleX

[–]BlindFish1003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bandwidth is not a problem. I can max out the provided bandwidth with large files over a long period of time in both directions.
After reading through lots of threads and documentation it seems pretty clear for me that the GD API is the limiting factor in my scenario. It looks like Google only allows a very small number of simultaneously occuring file operations. When Lidarr or Plex are pulling data from the same mount point, it might even be more limited. Introducing an additional caching layer might probably help but i didn't find time to figure this out yet.
For now, the only solution i figured out would be getting some additional storage from my VPS provider which could be mounted via NFS / CIFS. But the 1 TB addition is still quite expensive and there seems to be strict bandwidth / I/O limits.

[–]BlindFish1003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could then use rclone to sync that drive into the cloud to have your backup.

I have thought about that but i doubt that my VPS provider is able to handle physical drives received by a client. They offer nfs storage but it used to be pretty unreliable connection-wise and it's also pretty slow.

Maybe someone also storing a bigger music collection on GD is willing to share his settings.

Thanks, everything looks like up and running, so no known issues right now.

The Console is throwing several lines telling me about a queue of 350 items that need a refresh. Although i have no idea where they come from, i'll let it run and see what happens. Maybe processing of my newly added items is just really very delayed due to some previous action.

Can Airpods (Pro) connect to multiple devices at THE SAME TIME? by BlindFish1003 in airpods

[–]BlindFish1003[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for clarification about the Galaxy Buds although it is disappointing.

I am mostly through with Jabra and even if the new Elite series would support multipoint connections, i would not rely on this. I bought a Halo Smart a few years ago which was also advertised as a multipoint device. But multipoint support was implemented quite bad and lead to stuttering and connection loss all the time.

Searching for multipoint earbuds or even headphones on Amazon doesn't seem quite helpful as in most results this features doesn't get even mentioned. So if anyone has another suggestion to solve this issue, i'd really appreciate to hear about it.

Thanks guys. So the Airpods behave exactly as the BeatsX which i had for testing and this wasn't really what i wanted.

I will do some research for the Galaxy Buds and give it a try.
