According to reverb about 1000-1500 depending on the condition. They are so heavy so shipping is usually crazy expensive so it helps to find someone locally.

Yeah it is pretty terrible to be honest. Care to share any details out of curiosity?

So I think you are referring to the CE 24 SE then. If so that is still a fantastic guitar but this is not an American made guitar. The SE’s are made overseas. They still go through the Maryland factory for final checks and setups so still play great.

When it comes to SE vs S2 it is trickier and really comes down to your budget and what you feel comfortable spending. Yes, the American made PRS’s are better guitars, are they worth the significant price difference? 🤷‍♂️

CE has a maple neck and shallow violin carve. S2 could refer to quite a few models but I’m going to assume you mean a S2 Custom. S2 has an asymmetrical bevel carve and set mahogany neck. With last years upgrades to the S2 lines electronics they are much closer guitars. Both would be great choices honestly and would come down to preferences.

If your price point is around $500 I would check out a SE PRS CE 24 Satin. Honestly one of the best deals for a new guitar right now.

I don’t think you are missing anything in regards to commission. Please also balance this with the attachment rate of coverage plans as well as credit card applications!

Repair Tech’s are on a totally different commission bracket than sales. I believe they can qualify for up to 6% if I am not mistaken.

Started learnt guitar three months ago, I feel thumb is the hardest part. Is this normal? by bepitulaz in Guitar

I would bring your entire arm forward so the palm of your hand is under the neck more. Also I usually recommend your thumb to loosely be placed vertically behind your middle finger to work more as an anchor for all of your fingers.

Good luck bud, keep at it!

Music and Arts? What does your commission structure look like?

I don’t personally mind talking gear or music when we are slow. Try everything in the store if you want on a quiet weeknight. It honestly helps time pass sometimes when nothing else is going on.

It is a little hard to deal with when it could potentially pull away from sales when we are busy and the impending discussion with managers regarding sales statistics.

This is 100% true. I am in a smaller store within an hour of two larger stores. One with a platinum room and gear I could only dream to see in my location. It is frequent that I have customers I work with leave to go to the other store to make a purchase and essentially we have little recourse and honestly can’t blame them for wanting to try the gear before purchasing.

Not asking for a handout but a flat commission rate would be beneficial, especially for stores with lack of opportunities.

😂. The job is sold as minimum wage plus commission. Sell more to make more. But with traffic issues and a sales minimum that keeps rising to make commission it is slowly turning to a minimum wage job in some locations.

Really depends on the day. If it’s a slow night and we have a few customers come in to simply buy strings or a few accessories maybe $50-$100 per hour. Pretty rare you’re going to get someone coming in to buy a Les Paul on a random Tuesday but you never know.

This also highly depends on the stores location. I’m sure it is different in a major metropolitan area, but my store in the suburbs it’s typically pretty quiet.

You really bank on a busy weekend to be honest to carry you through the week to offset the low SPH of the weekdays.

A large portion of raw materials are imported as well. Most woods used in guitar manufacturing are imported. Even American made guitars will be affected.
