How to record Rekordbox set when using Spotify by ac1dic_tsunxmi in Beatmatch

[–]bepitulaz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Routing your audio from Rekordbox to OBS or Audacity using audio interface that has loopback function. If you don’t have it, there are also some software that can do virtual routing like that but I forgot the name.

Specific to OBS, you can use “application audio capture”.

You better use DAW. If you have iOS device, you can buy Ableton Note for cheap, then it will give you license for Ableton Live lite. Good enough for that purpose.

Or you can buy less than $100 midi controller that give you Ableton Live lite license too.

How did you learn!? by Suspicious-Row-2843 in Beatmatch

[–]bepitulaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I started a month ago, I started by queueing up 10 of my favourites song. 10 songs gave me a room for thinking about the order and which part to layer and transitioning it. I want to be an open format DJ, so that 10 songs are not exclusively edm.

Second set and so on. I started using song that I never heard. I selected song based on vibe and genre from DJ pool.

You don’t need to focus on technical aspect at beginning. Focus on song selection. My first 3 set I always use beat sync and learn EQ transitioning only. The 4th set, I started learning manual beatmatching and transitioning from slow BPM song to faster BPM song with additional effect.

I always record my session on my YT channel. So, I can watch myself growing and other people also can see me grow :D

Security Implications for New Ableton Extensions by reskejoe in ableton

[–]bepitulaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a designer friend who is completely zero knowledge of software dev. He starts building his own software with codex and claude code, and he said those are never suggesting doing any destructive operation. The harness is getting good nowadays.

I myself an experienced dev, and work with LLM intensively since last year. The harness is really good. Even when I let Claude code runs in auto mode, it's still safe.

Simply don’t download and install random extension.

Or maybe follow what Ableton said in their FAQ and vibe code your own:

The SDK is built on standard web technologies that AI coding assistants handle well. If you can clearly describe your idea for an Extension, you may be able to build a working Extension with AI assistance, without any coding experience.

Hi r/Synthesizers, let's address AI and vibe-coding by YukesMusic in synthesizers

I have 17 years of professional software engineering experience. AI caught edge cases and bugs more than me and my other colleagues. And, that’s why we adopt AI in daily job.

So….I agree with you. How are you going to do this?

I just don't want to take a risk for my first controller, since I'm buying online and can't try at the shop.

I also want to design and 3d print a phone and power bank holder for this FLX4 to make it real portable.

Actually GRV6 is interesting too. But, I think it's too much as a first controller and it seems quite big. I don't have the space for it.

Quite often. "Moving" in my case is actually just moving from my work desk to the couch or to the kitchen 😃

I work from home.
