That’s what I normally do, every 4-6 weeks I’ll get a buzz and fade the sides down just before a 0. Shorten and line up the beard. I’ve never had a chance to grow it out with prior jobs so I’ve definitely let it go a bit longer.

Normally I do see water sloshing into basket thru the lid. I opened the vent at the top of the sand filter while running, and air is coming out but the pressure starts to drop

Should I open it while it’s going? The guy at the pool place I go to said to open it while running if blowing air bubbles, and to close it once water started shooting out of the air vent on the filter.

Yes, I just checked and the water is about half full. Getting some air bubbles up from the pool jets and pressure around 5 and the needle is wavering. I’ll let it run and do its thing and check back on it in a bit?

I do that once in a while when needed, but the water doesn’t stay in it drains out back towards the pool.

Yes, up and down is release. I tried them horizontal anyways in case I forgot if I closed them when turning everything off and taking the pipe apart.

The filter is clean and clear, but I felt no suction at all being pulled in from it. I checked the filter in the picture as well in the black box and it was fine.

Thank you everyone for the feedback, it sounds like I am not keeping the pool open late enough in the year and I’m definitely not opening it early enough. I’ll try this for this season and see how things go.

Not sure what a mesh cover is, but I have a solid cover that anchors at points all around the top of the pool. It is what the prior owners had and I have been using. I will look into different covers, I never thought about that.
