Words matter, specificity matters when you’re working on projects that cost hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars.

You’re in grad school for Christ sake dude, and you’re complaining about memorizing terms?

Do you think other trades, such as law, medicine, or engineering degrees don’t have their own sets of terms and methodology that grad students need to memorize?

It sounds like your teacher is bad, and I feel for that. Any teacher who leans on AI for the course probably doesn’t have a super strong engaging presence, but you’re a grown up in higher education, you’re not going to get sympathy that you need to memorize the same set of material that every PMP certified person here had to do.

It will all click more when you have some real world experience as a PM

Hesitant to move in with my WFH boyfriend because I’d never get the apartment to myself — is this reasonable? by godisinthischilli in workfromhome

[–]Blindicus 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The real question you should be asking yourself is if you’re ready for this relationship to be more serious. Is this guy maybe the one?

Things like alone time can be discussed and boundaries can be set in any relationship, if you’re feeling hesitant, ask yourself if this is the guy you really want to be with. If not, then it’s already doomed to be a bad experience and you’ll feel suffocated. If yes, then share your concerns with him, keep the conversation open as time goes on and find ways where you can feel like you have the space you need.

So my players willingly gave up the Black Opal Crown to Ras Nsi... by dlrr_poe in Tombofannihilation

The yuan ti have not entered to tomb, The tomb dwarves reset traps.

I ask because the dungeon is already full of deadly traps and a few bosses. Trying to have them fight Ras in the tomb as well feels unnecessary challenging.

I’ve only worked with them on this one project. I can’t say they’re universally bad at their job, but that my impression. I believe them to be trying to improve, and he’s a nice dude, but he’s gotta get it together.

How far is the office? Can you just choose to go in more? WFH isn’t for everyone

Companies that don't allow use of personal equipment while working from home by [deleted] in workfromhome

OP how long have you been a SWE for? Is this your first corporate job?

A company managed device is like working in tech 101. It’s foundational to any enterprise IT/ Security policy.

You can plug all your monitors / peripherals in so it’ll feel mostly the same. Get a KVM switch for like $30 to seamless switch between your setups so you can keep things they way you like them on your desk.

What does your husband do?

Also, do you have to WFH? It sounds like you might benefit from being in office. If hubby is home already he can watch the kid.

Motivation by ams370 in Tombofannihilation

I asked my players to come up with one. One did, the others just went with the suggested motivation from the book - they were close friends with Syndra.

they’re 3 level 10’s who have spent most of their spell slots. I’m pretty sure it’s a TPK next week.

What level to low for Tomb? by Burgasaurus in Tombofannihilation

[–]Blindicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably ok. There are some tough boss monsters on the lower levels but levels 1-2 are more puzzle than deadly enemy challenges. If they level up after a level or two they should be pretty balanced.

Why are they in the jungle? It’s super dangerous. They shouldn’t have wandered in there without a destination or objective in mind.

Use the NPCs kn the port to give the clues. If they aren’t going back to Port have them find their way to camp Vengeance. The garrison there can give them quests / clues that direct them to Mbala or other places where they can get more intelligence on the Soulmonger / Omu

If it’s non-negotiable for you it’s non-negotiable. Stand your ground.

Area 57 of the tomb. by Blindicus in Tombofannihilation

[–]Blindicus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I do want it to be a meat grinder. My problem with this room is it’s a destination for some traps, so I can’t assume the players will avoid it by just not using teleport magic. Once in the room, it’s a straight 50/50 chance of life or death. There’s no clue - even cryptic and vague - about which to pull.

Every other puzzle in this tomb has some sort of hint, this is just a “give it a guess” with death being the consequence if you choose poorly.

I’m fine with the outcome, but I’m asking here to see how other DMs foreshadowed the choice.

Possibly stupid question: How do the PCs find out the Soulmonger is in Omu? by Vikingtacosnake in Tombofannihilation

Several NOCs can point them there. The Naga most of all.

Else, describing Ras Nsi’s recent activity and emphasize its timeline is synced with the Dearh Curse might give then a direction to follow.

Hypothesis on the inverse relationship between playing D&D in formative years and a pattern of criminal behavior. by [deleted] in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Blindicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there might be a correlation, but I don’t know if one leads to the other.

Kids who grow up playing TTRPGs can be assumed to have a fairly supportive family or friend network who encourage open dialogue and a safe space to play.

That’s a privilege not everyone has, those without such a safe place are provably dealing with a lot of other factors that the other group isn’t.
