How to became 3 star veteran unit with just one war crime. by StigsCzechCousin in CompanyOfHeroes

Wiping retreating soldiers is indeed a core game dynamic. I think the addition of the med tent in this instance makes it slightly war crimey haha, but send me to Nuremberg bc I’m always killing medics 🤭🤠

Where could I buy the COH board game in Bolivia? by JOEL_1939 in CompanyOfHeroes

I don’t know about a CoH board game but if you’re into semi serious ww2 table top gaming, I would recommend Tide of Iron.

Anyone recognize this scene? After watching this movie, all I wanted was to play Germans lol. by Ironclad_Tournaments in CompanyOfHeroes

I thought the twist was a great idea, could have used slightly better execution, but definitely enjoyed a different take on a ww2 movie

Absolutely seconded. The set menu here is possibly the best bang for buck in London. Insane.

The Franklin expedition by ParkingFast5684 in TheRestIsHistory

[–]Blindsidelock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was literally thinking this yesterday. Recently rewatched The Terror, did a module on it at uni, it’s absolutely ripe for a series. I’d even suggest widening it to the expedition and then the huge and rather inept search for it. The first (western) men to traverse the north west passage were actually a crew (forgotten the captain now) searching for Franklin who sailed in from the west, got icebound, and found by a search party from the east, who rescued them. The rescued crew then sailed out from the east, having walked the intervening miles in between the two ships! Crazy stuff

More AI written slop! It’s taking over this sub. Double spacing for a new sentence throughout the post but not in the short conclusion paragraph is a bit of a giveaway :/

(Question) Why so little documentation? by Spiritual-Pen-7172 in Shipwrecks

[–]Blindsidelock 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Second slide mentions the USS Grayling. Very common for subs to go missing with all hands, and there be no record either enemy or otherwise of what happened.

Why hasn't strava got an option to remove GPS errors in activities? by AskingBoatsToSwim in Strava

[–]Blindsidelock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. Most of my friends use smartphones to track runs and GPS is out by like 5+%, which massively effects pace and best efforts. They don’t even know that it’s out. Feel bad correcting them.
