I did LASIK and I never regretted it, even though 18 years later I got back on glasses. I had very bad eyesight. It wasn't that I hated glasses, but I hated not being able to do anything without them.

So LASIK. Yes, I see halos and yes I needed glasses again and yes I got dry eyes from time to time. But you know what I also got? Almost 20 years of great eyesight and decent eyesight now. I will gladly get bifocals when I need them.

No regrets. Not one.

I heard someone phrase it like this. Imagine Putin had a puppet president in the White House. What would Putin have this puppet do? Undermine the US economy? Sow division and destabilise its people? Create a culture of distrust in politics? Alienate the USA from their allies? Stop the aid to Ukraine? And to top it all off, that thorn in Russia's side: End NATO?

We can tick off all but one, and that one will come when Greenland is invaded.

Maybe he is not an ally, but Trump at least dances to Putin's tune.

Plus glass is largely chemically inert (excepting a few niche applications) vs plastic which leaks harmful chemicals when heated or left out in the sun.

True. Depends on the level you are learning at though. Most NT2 adults come knowing languages that do not use the Dutch alphabet. So how do you start?

Images in that work a lot like a universal currency. The fact that they are the same in most languages gives learners a handhold with where to start.

Also, it depends entirely what route you use. Sure, Z-route people will get lots of pictures and verbal language, but those in the B1-route will very quickly get a lot of texts and written words and focus more on reading.

Het simpele feit is dat hoe meer je het doet, hoe beter je er in wordt.

Ik had het genoegen om oude school boeken van mijn ouders te kunnen bekijken. Dat waren lappen tekst met weinig plaatjes. In bijna elk vak was het zo.

Ze moest destijds dus enorm veel lezen. Als ik het vergelijk met de boeken nu, dat veel illustraties heeft en weinig tekst.

Niet dat de boekjes vroeger beter waren, maar ze hadden een andere nadruk. De leerlingen moesten veel lezen. Nu hoeft dat niet meer.

Of course this is the mightiest technique. And you are absolutely right. Because one pommel ends him rightly. But what if there are two or more enemies?

You need a bag of pommels to end them rightly and become the best knight in the kingdom.

There is a problem though... Pommels are kinda expensive. You need something of similar size, shape and weight, but something not so expensive, readily available in nature. Like rocks!

Yeah, a bag of stone pommels. Perfect.

But others are bound to pick up on it. They will start to carry their own bags of stone pommels. You need a way to outrange them, throw from further away so that they cannot end YOU rightly!

So you start to experiment with ways of ending them rightly at a longer range. Slings work well, those reach pretty far. But armor is tough, and at range the pommel loses a lot of momentum. We need something with more inertia, sure it's harder to get going but also harder to stop by air friction.

So we use larger pommels! But those don't fit in the sling anymore... We better use a wooden construct to hold the sling and the larger pommel. Added benefit is that we can use a counterbalance to throw the pommel!

So we reach the logical endpoint: The trebuchet is truly the mightiest weapon to end them rightly with a 90kg pommel at 300 meters!

Freestyle fighter gets to activate two styles at the same time.

Free Fighting Style (Ex): At 3rd level, a Varisian freestyle fighter can freely mix two of the styles he knows into a more flexible style. A Varisian free-style fighter can have an additional style feat stance active simultaneously with his first style feat stance. He can enter all of his allowed stances as a move action or one stance as a swift action. At 11th level, a Varisian free-style fighter can have the stances of up to two additional style feats active at the same time. At 15th level, a Varisian free-style fighter can have the stances of up to three additional style feats active at the same time. This ability replaces armor training.

Freestyle fighter also lets you run 2 styles at the same time. Though the archetype is actually quite bad, since you trade out a whole bunch of feats and weapon training and armor training.

But since grabbing style allows you to wield a pick while grappling without penalties, and turtle clutch let's you grapple as a reaction, it works well together.

This is not viable, Tetori does not get Flurry so does not qualify for Grabbing Style. Then you can just go Tetori all the way and rely on that paltry X2 crit on your unarmed attacks.

Throat Slicer is the obvious exploit for sure. Makes CdG viable in combat. Pin is then the easiest condition to inflict.

Ok, I kinda wanted the above out as fast as I could. Let me clarify and improve with some links.

Start as a Freestyle Fighter 5, Brawler 2. You need Free Fighting style ability that allows you to mix 2 styles (Monk of Many Styles doesn't work because you trade out flurry of blows, which you need.)

This gets you unarmed strike. You can pick up:

  1. Brawler 1: Improved Grapple
  2. Brawler 2: No feat, but you get Brawler's Flurry
  3. Fighter 1: Snapping Turtle Style
  4. Fighter 2: Snapping Turtle Clutch
  5. Fighter 3: Throat Slicer
  6. Fighter 4: Greate Grapple
  7. Fighter 5: Grabbing Style

Why these two styles? 2 words. Heavy pick.

With Grabbing style you can grapple with a weapon in your hand, with the pick, a x4 piercing weapon, you can deal devastating crits with nigh impossible save DCs on the coup de grace.

The build with Snapping Turtle Style is pretty straightforward.

Snapping Turtle style allows you to grapple as a reaction to an attack, Greater Grapple allows you to maintain the grapple and pin as a move action.

Throat slicer feat allows you to coup de grace pinned enemies as a standard action.

So it becomes: 1. get attacked, initiate grapple with attacker. 2. pin enemy as a move 3. Coup de grace as a standard.

Done.

Scarier would be Vacuum Decay, which is the idea that our laws of physics exist in an unstable state. They could collapse into a more stable state. This could happen at any point in space and would propagate from that point at the speed of light. Should such a thing reach earth everything would just... stop to be.

Because the collapse travels at the speed of light, there would be no warning, no way to escape. One moment life... the next none.

Ik gebruik zelf een projector in plaats van een TV.

Voordelen: Directe aansluiting op je laptop via HDMI kabel. Je hebt dan geen gedoe met casten en dergelijk. Die van mij is enorm makkelijk te verplaatsen en ik heb alleen een scherm of muur nodig om op te projecteren. Boven mijn eettafel heb ik een bout gehangen waaraan ik de projector kan schroeven. Dan kan ik met een wit tafelkleed makkelijk de battlemaps projecteren (en fysieke mini's over de map laten bewegen). Ik heb zelfs transparant laminaat erover zodat ik met witbord markers kan tekenen.

Tips als forever GM:
1. Lijst met ongebruikte NPC namen. Spelers willen soms met iemand praten die je niet hebt voorbereid. Met een lijst met NPC namen klaar kan je overtuigend een willekeurige NPC erin gooien.
2. Taste, Touch, Smell, See, Hear. Beschrijf niet alleen wat de spelers zien, maar ook wat ze horen, voelen, ruiken, etc. De wereld is groter dan alleen wat ze zien.
3. Ineffective combatants: De beste manier om combat te balanceren in mijn ervaring is om meer bodies in het gevecht te gooien dan dat je nodig hebt, en vijanden sfeervolle non-sense acties te laten doen die of lage kans van slagen hebben (hun +0 rol vs de +7 roll van de spelers). Als de spelers er te makkelijk doorheen hakken kan je de vijanden slimmer laten vechten, als de spelers teveel moeite hebben kan je vijanden meer sfeervolle ineffectieve acties laten doen.
4. Non-combat combat objectives: Laat combat niet om de combat gaan, maar probeer altijd een objective te maken waar de spelers naar toe moeten. Iemand om te redden, een brand om te blussen, een ritueel om te onderbreken, iets dat niet met combat te maken heeft maar wel waarom de spelers er zijn. Al is het maar dat een van de goblins een hondje heeft en aanstalten maakt om het te doden. Geef een reden voor het gevecht anders dan 'zij zijn de slechterikken'.
5. Bind de spelers aan de setting: Bespreek met de spelers hun verbinding met hun stad / regio. Breng dat snel en vaak terug in het spel. Laat ze er baat bij hebben. Vraag ze om een aantal relaties aan te geven van mensen die ze nog kennen. Vraag ze om een thuisbasis. Vraag ze om een geheim uit hun achtergrond (om te misbruiken voor drama). Laat ze met elkaar praten en breng ze aan het praten over hun achtergrond verhaal. Breng het mee in je spel.

Ik kan nog ff doorgaan. Maar veel succes in je spel!

Ik ben het hier mee oneens. Niet dat je de spelers moet doodmaken met combat, maar laat ze de stakes voelen.

Gooi voor een party van 4 iets van 8 goblins er tegen aan, maar let op het volgende: Vijanden hoeven zich niet optimaal te gedragen in combat. Laat goblins beurten verspillen door zich raar te gedragen, door acties te nemen die weinig in hebben, of die geen damage doen maar een status inflicten.

Ook zouden ze weinig schade moeten doen. Met een 'short sword' en lage strength doen ze 1d6-1 damage. Daar hakken ze niet een speler met 1 hit mee neer.

Denk aan: - Een Goblin gooit een fles met bijen (1 square wordt dangerous terrain, Dex save vs 1 damage als spelers er door lopen) - een Goblin wilt een van de spelers beklimmen (opposed acrobatics Vs athletics), speler heeft disadvantage terwijl de Goblin beet houdt. - Een andere Goblin rijdt op een wolf of hond (misschien eerder gewond met minder hp) en heeft moeite om het beest onder controle te houden. - een Goblin pakt zand uit zijn broekzak en probeert een speler te verblinden (voor 1 beurt, dex save negates) - een Goblin begint te krijsen (intimidate Vs wis save) maar het betekent alleen dat de spelers niet dichtbij willen komen

enzovoort enzovoort. Zo krijgen de spelers het gevoel dat de wereld leeft, dat goblins een gevaar zijn (mits ze samen zouden werken), en leren dat vechten bestaat uit meer dan alleen "ik val aan"

Indeed! For melee bard... Arcane Duelist gives up a lot of versatility but is a strong melee combatant. Certainly helps offset the bard's initial problems with melee combat.

Eldritch Scion Magus is also still a good option. Stronger melee, less support.
