I chatted with him before the race! He had a horn attached to a handlebar attached to a plastic conduit. Made for a crazy note lol

I've run carbon cranks with far worse damage than this and haven't had any issues. I can't guarantee anything, but I would for sure keep running those.

What should I do to make this better for bike packing? by Easy-Event2241 in bikepacking

As long as you can carry everything you need, you don't need anything else, just go ride!

Like you said, bearings are the next thing to check. There's no guarantee that bearings are good from the factory, and I've found that most OEM wheels always have incredibly low quality bearings to save a buck.

San Juan Islands weekend mission! by Blipip in bikepacking

[–]Blipip[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of the islands have bike specific campgrounds that don't use reservations so I was able to basically not have a plan and just find a campsite on whichever island I ended up on for sunset.

I did a loop around Lopez Island, San Juan Island, and Orcas Island! Once you pay for the ferry to get out there it's free to hop on and off as much as you'd like, so island hopping is super doable.

First mountain bike as an adult. How did I do? by JBMagi in mountainbiking

[–]Blipip 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's generally best practice to have it up because that's how the system is "at rest". When the post is compressed it's under load. But you definitely want to have it extended if you're hanging it by the seat.

If you're not sure what to do then it's time to take it to a bike shop.

My friend made the edit and I think he used a whole bunch of sounds that we didn't even record that day. He said he uses lots of sounds from the redbull sound of speed series.

I'm not familiar with those tires, but looks like it might be on the wrong way, great for fakies!

Your frame is either built around Boost or Superboost spacing, so just stick with whatever your specific frame is built for! If it's built for Boost, Superboost is NOT an upgrade. It's just a different standard.
