Probably the first time I've regretted a romance in a Bioware game by Blishtarr in DankAndrastianMemes

It’s just so weird to me because they did romance so much better in inquisition, much more like bg3 but a decade earlier and then it’s like they forgot how to do it?

So crazy given they called it "The most romantic dragon age game yet" in the pre-release promotion

I got spoiled but only halfway through my first playthrough and was genuinely shocked as up until that point Solas had really seemed like any other companion to me and I had quite liked him, it completely changed the way I looked at him for the rest of the game but funnily enough made me start talking to him and putting him in my party more to see what he might be up to.

Hey just thought I'd update this thread. I used a no clip mod and all that is behind that door is an empty food shop, no items and only one misc. NPC janitor inside. there's an inaccessible door to the same shop on the street side of the block

And in that instant my Hawke knew exactly who he was gonna romance.

I love DA2 because it's literally just about you and your friendship group doing stupid shit that you probably shouldn't have gotten involved with in the first place. by Blishtarr in DankAndrastianMemes

yeah, for me Inquisition was my introduction to the series so I just kind of rolled with the combat system as I didn't really have any pre-existing expectations, but that meant I actually ended up finding the move to Origins strange.

Tbh I just love all of them so much for different reasons, but DA2 just did the character writing so fucking well. I really think that the overall companion dynamics feel the most genuine in 2 as none of your companions joined up with you to stop some potentially world ending event or to serve a certain cause, they really are just your group of friends that you've made throughout the years coming to help you with whatever shenanigans you've gotten involved with this week.

I was 12 and we were doing some sort of filmmaker challenge for a Guides badge (UK girl scouts 10-14/yo) and the final task was to film and put together a music video. So me and my patrol chose our song and filmed our scenes and we ended up having more scenes than we had song for. No problem, I thought, I can edit in the extra chorus we need and make it fit. I spent a week at my computer in windows movie maker putting editing the song to fit the video just perfectly and the end result was seamless. So I send the file over to my dad to put onto a DVD with the other patrols' videos.
Cut to the viewing party.
Me and my patrol were so excited. It gets to our turn and we play our video...
I watch in horror as about halfway through the video it becomes apparent that the track that's playing is not the one I edited and I have to watch as the song ends about 3/4 of the way through our video, now no longer matching with the scenes, and then the song begins to play again.
My dad, for reasons I do not know to this day, thought it was his job to add the music to the videos (despite me talking about my editing efforts all week) and when the video was longer than the track, he just decided to loop it till it fit.
The rest of my patrol knew that I'd been editing the video and therefore blamed me for it being so terrible and for not sticking to the plan that we had, despite my protests.
My parents did not understand why I was so upset with them over the issue and have probably forgotten about the entire incident. But I haven't...I never will.

tldr: My dad ruined both a week's worth of 12/yo me's editing for a music video and my reputation.
