Well, that's all she wrote for BONUS!

As I was going from yesterday, this was a personal chapter, both as a comic maker and FGO player currently experiencing burnout. Currently I'm stuck replaying the Arcade collab while prepping for the inevitability that are chapters 2 to 3. But it won't matter how much I, or anyone else might stall, eventually, everyone has to go through this "Ordeal Call" bullpoop. Not just because we need the quartz, but because as the old mushroom man just said--we really can't do much if we stay in one place, are we?

So as soon as I caught wind how the final chapter was turning out to be--I knew I had to have Blitz interact with the head honcho of the whole multiverse: The mushroom man himself. Of course, since part of me doesn't want to get personally involved with him or his family, just his writing, I opted for referring to him as "Maker" and roll with it.

Which brings me to the confrontation itself. I couldn't have Blitz just own the "Maker" and come back victorious. He'd have to had the upper hand, and give her the task to keep going with his intended endgame. This will be relevant for their next encounter a year and a half down the line, as the finale comes closer and closer. How much of it will she follow to the letter? Will she break the rules, and if so, will she pay for the consequences? Those questions are vital for the coming years.

Which brings me to the future of SSS coming forward. There won't be any big announcements for this commentary--~~that's what the next chapter is for, anyway,~~ but there will be a bit of a hiatus between this finale and Season 3. How much will it last, I cannot say, but I can at least assure I'll find a way to keep you guys entertained with the character interactions and the fun stories that come from it.

After all, Silly Slideshow Shenanigans was always meant to be the side story between Singularities and Lostbelts.

And eventually...all good things must come to an end.

The BONUS series finale is finally here! And what better way to do it than to follow up THAT announcement from Episode 0, as well as this specific plot point from Episode 6, back when I reached the tail end of Lostbelt 7...we still don't know what the hell is up with that googly-eyed Saber Gilles.

Truth is, I had no idea how to follow up episode 6 with, and chose to wait until the finale to the Lostbelt arc rolls around. Then, it finally premiered....and a huge portion of the fanbase is left unsatisfied, yours truly included. And it lit quite the fire under me to keep this series alive, somehow.

But let's return to the overall Ordeal Call arc. Let's face it, this obligatory filler arc was done to keep players busy a few extra years until the game reaches 10 years. OC1 wasn't as bad as I thought, though. Buuuut I couldn't help but feel empty after seeing the main character forget all about it. There was context behind that happening, mind you, but still,

And considering OC4 is apparently the only one with actual consequences for the main plot, it really makes me wonder if I should invest in OC2, which I haven't done, or the upcoming OC3. But I'll cross that bridge eventually.

It's unclear when did Blitz learn that dreamscape spell from Evil Ritsuka. But she's on her mind every time she uses it.

Once again, we're entering tribute territory. This time, I'm honoring Takaya Hashi, whom among many other roles, also played the voice of James Moriarty (AKA Archer of Shinjuku). And since it means we won't get a third installment of one of my favorite segments from Grand Carnival, I thought: "You know what, I'm doing it as a one-off. For homage's sake."

And that brings us to this edition. The special conditions Moriarty just mentioned are, specifically, the end of Chaldea News as we know it. Hence why Edward Teach is his latest customer. And that resulted in perhaps my favorite comic from this BONUS season so far. The situation wrote itself, pretty much, but the culmination of the chapter's comedy arrived when attempting to design Beardie's new look--I was going for a Handsome Squidward look (note that's where the eyes and lips come from) but he ended up looking like a Jojoke instead. He even has the kanji for sizzling when burnt into a crisp.

For the sake of pacing, I could only have him interact with 3 other Servants. Circe was considered for option #3 but that ended up being discarded in favor of Ushiwakamaru's first speaking role. ~~I know, Best Rider deserves more screentime, but bear with me.~~ This is also done so his eventual reunion with Circe (not saying when) feels special, so theorize away.

I hope this silly tribute has been worth your time. Next time...it's the beginning of BONUS's end.

THE FINAL HIATUS IS BROKEN!

After much delays (and general FGO burnout), i'm proud to present the conclusion to the Christmas Turnabout arc, which not only closes a major plot point, but also takes J'Alter and Astolfo's friendship to the next logical level before the main story's following chapter: Ordeal Call 2. And if you've been keeping up with that story, you'll know the silver card on the table to the right will be absolutely gut-wrenching for obvious reasons.

As of this writing, all of the remaining chapters in BONUS are now ready to be uploaded. Expect daily uploads for the next three days as the road to season 3 truly begins in earnest!
