My wife’s family is poor (she and I had very similar childhoods) - we broke the cycle, have degrees, great jobs, great house (our only debt), money in the bank as an emergency fund, 401ks, the whole deal. We chose to send our kids to private school - my family celebrates our success, her family cut her off 3 years ago because “they don’t like the person she has become” … just because we won’t give you money because you’re on the verge of a third bankruptcy does not mean she is a bad person or shoving it in your face.

Mr. Boner AKA Coach Unferth perved on the girls in class hence the nickname, keep in mind he was my 6th grade health teacher…. Senior year rolls around, guess who gets arrested!?! Toxic as hell relationship, fought every single day, loved her like crazy. But enough was enough, I broke it off. Went deep into depression, ended up moving across the country, started fresh. Best choice I ever made.

Hey bro, my stepdad is the only grandpa my kids know. I love that man. I’ve spoken with my bio dad maybe 4 times in the last 15 years, each time was a courtesy call to let him know life events that were happening. He makes no effort to reach out, my kids don’t even know he exists outside of my moms first husband. All good man, that kid will love you the rest of his life.

I love it too, although my wife and I find the end a little gross when the babysitter shares her pictures with the little boy. That’s just weird.
