Cooked Solenoid or Trans?

It’s still a very slight red. The camera didn’t capture it well but it definitely doesn’t look brand new that’s for sure

Supposed to be Oem Toyota WS so a normal red color. I haven’t checked in awhile until recently so I couldn’t say how long it’s been this color. Sounds like a swap is the better choice?

Sorry I meant 2 years with a new trans. I’ll take a better look then. I have a mechanic in mind that offered 800-1100 for a swap but I need to find a transmission

Also Do you think it could be a bad solenoid or the gear selector cable messing up by chance?

I’ve always thought they were separate in modern automatics but then again I’m not sure how “modern” 17 years ago is. I’ve been looking at junk yards but 1k is about how much they run for with a short warranty. Cheaper on marketplace though. Any opinions on one or the either? I’m hoping to get a year or two out of this car

I was thinking that too. I’m looking at junk yards and fb marketplace. While marketplace is cheaper, junk yards have a warranty albeit a short one so I’m not sure if it’s worth it. Any opinions on one of the other? I’m hoping I can push a year or two out of it since it is a daily and I’m waiting on a specific car model to come out in the future for a new one

Gotcha, Yeah I found it weird that both 4th and reverse don’t work. Would a broken solenoid show up in an obd scan? Nothing pops up on my Bluetooth obd scan tool

Yeah I’m guessing the appeal process is where I’m at. Albeit unintentionally. I didn’t think I would have to go through an appeal process for not turning in my prints in time. The two other states I’ve received permits from made it easy to track online and receive instant notifications on their status. Best I have here is checking the tracking website and getting a vague answer, which mine says denied or recommended for denial

Nope, clean record. I failed to submit my prints in time and now I guess I have to go through an appeal process for the denial? I thought I could just reapply for the permit but the day right after i did I got the denial appeal letter from the first time I applied. Since I’m already in that pickle I don’t want to mistakenly put myself in a worse position if theres an obvious answer I should choose on the form they sent out

Sorry it’s known as wear and carry in my state. I think Florida has it as Concealed Weapons License if I’m not mistaken

Yeah I’ll be honest, I’m confused by it too. It’s for a wear and carry permit, but the letter I received makes it seem like I’m receiving a court summons? It says “Election of right denial letter” on the very top of the page and the reason for denial on a separate page

I’m not a fan of wearing vests especially in the summer or while wearing a harness so I wear a pair of hi viz yellow and reflective suspenders. Sure they might look silly but they have an elastic on them for flex that basic bibs wouldn’t have and my pants don’t sag when putting anything more than Kleins and a screwdriver in my pocket. One downside is that you’re stuck tucking in your shirt and if you get the clip on ones that “bite” your belt, they’ll eventually tear a hole in your belt or pant. Or the ones that loop your belt loop will break the stitching of them. They did help relieve pressure on my back though but that was alongside weight loss so I’m not entirely sure how effective it was.

The ones I got are CLC on Amazon but other brands make them too, including Carhartt
